  1. any of you from atlanta, near north georgia? Which courses have you played and how did it go?
  2. I don't have that many, but I do like collecting them. So for a lot of balls, I have only one used for collection.

    Singles

When you play alone you can concentrate and focus more. Also you can notice more things as when you're playing with someone else, you might be talking and you'll be a bit more distracted.
  4. I went to Hilton Head Island earlier this year, I'm not too sure about the golf, but the beaches just aren't that good. Maybe the side I was on or something.
  5. you should have told him you were dating his daughter, then maybe he would have given you free golfing for a while...

    Beginner advice

Very true, try to go to the range, and see what works and what doesn't work for you, and bring it all together. Not that I'm a pro at this. But this has helped me sometimes too.
  9. My local range has grass tees but they're only open on weekends. That's kind of dumb in my opinion, since I hate mats too. The only good thing I like is that they have a second floor and I like hitting from the top because it just feels cooler. I still don't go very often simply because I like playing better.
  10. The course doesn't look as good as I thought it would being as expensive as it is, and being located in key west. I'm sure it'll probably be better when you actually play it though. Good Luck!
  11. This happened while playing at Stone Mountain Golf Club ( www.stonemountaingolf.com ) last weekend. This happened on the 11th hole. First you had layup downhill about 150-160 yards. Then after that you had to hit it over a lake and onto the other side where the green was. It was a good 200-210 yards to the green. I grabbed my 6 iron and take some practice shots and give it a go. I topped the ball kinda bad and it came out as a line drive that had no chance of clearing the lake. Well the ball hit in the lake, bounced up, hit a rock, and landed on the green. About 30-35 feet from the flag. I then went on to make the putt for a birdie!? The hole was a par4. how lucky/good was that? At least I felt good and not lucky about the 30 foot putt.
  12. How about when you're taking a practice swing and some idiot yells "strike 1" does that count?
  13. yeah I could have guessed that simply because most people don't get an official handicap until they're pretty good
  14. here at my local Golfsmith they sell ProV1x "x-outs" for $15 a dozen I didn't know what the difference was so I didn't buy them, but I should
  15. Nice job man!!!! That's probably a once in a lifetime type of things

well I went out yesterday to play golf and I hit it only 5 yards less than golfsmith said
  18. ahhh ok, thanks man!
  19. I also had another quick question: I know what handicap means and everything, but why does every hole in a golf course have a different handicap? what does that mean if it's higher/lower etc..
  20. What do people mean when they talk about a golf course's "Course Time"? say I'm going to a golf course and its course time is at 4:35, what does that mean?

    USGA Handicap

    Golfsmith

yeah I'll have to call around and see. How much do those drivers usually go for? $399+?
  24. what do you all think of Angel Cabrera hitting a 393 yd bomb at oakmont on the 18th hole? Pretty far don't you think?

    Golfsmith

That's pretty weird because I didn't hit it as far with any other driver, I guess I just loved the sound the sumo made when I hit it right, and yes I've only been playing for about 2 months now. I wonder if Golfsmith would let me check out the driver to see how far it goes on an actual range.
