Not too long ago, I was bragging that I hit my best score ever; an 81. The next time out was a disaster. Such a disaster that I stopped keeping score around hole 7 or 8. It seems I had offended the Golf God's by my bragging. Most people would have learned their lesson, don't you think? Well, it seems I didn't! LOL. Last Friday I played a casual round with a good friend at one of the courses around here that is still open and I hit a 79!!! I was elated. I realize that for many of you a 79 is nothing, but for me it was a major accomplishment. Having learned my lesson, I thought, from the last time, I did not brag. However I was 'bragging in my heart' LOL. It seems the Golf God's noticed….Today I played with another group of friends, and just KNOWING in my heart that I am going to be awesome….WRONG! The front nine was an utter disaster; it was embarrassing. It wasn't until after hole nine, where I made a sacrifice of a really nice ball into the water hazard in front of the green, did things turn around. The front nine I really do not want to remember. The back nine saved my arse. Praise be to the Golf Gods.

Evil club of hate.... I have one, do you? For me it is my fairway. It hates me. Sometimes it acts like it is my best friend, other times not so much. At times it hits sweet and true, and says 'who loves you baby?'. The next time out it shows me the middle finger.... <sigh>

Today, with a group of friends, I was able to achieve the best score I have ever enjoyed: 81. On the way home I was thinking about the round and the time I spent with my friends and felt very happy. UNTIL I had the thought "Would it have killed the Golf Gods to give me two strokes?' Two lousy strokes?! LOL

When I first started playing, I told myself that if I can only break 100, I'll be happy. Once I did, I told myself IF I can only break 90, I'll be happy. Now the real truth is come to light, IF I can only break 80, I will be truly happy.......😁

I have a Sun Mountain Golf - Micro 4 Wheel Push Cart that I bought used off of Facebook Marketplace. I have absolutely no complaints about it. I especially like how small if folds up when not in use.

Getting ready to replace softspikes on my Footjoy's. What should I look for? Are there really any differences that I should watch out for?

Our game started at 11:00 am and it was 42 degrees, ending around 03:00 pm at 47 degrees. Beautiful clear blue skies and a bit windy. With these conditions, temperature and wind, I was anticipating a terrible round. What happened was I played the best round I ever played; 41 on the front nine and 39 on the back. I was stunned! However, that said, I will take it!

For some reason we are not really having a winter, so far, in Virginia. My last round of 2019 was last Sunday. I am not complaining, it is just odd.

Looking forward to my first round of the year in a couple of hours......

Typically I take a lesson when I get new clubs and when I feel I have reached a plateau and not improving from my last lesson.

What makes the perfect round of golf for you? Score, companionship, etc?

I am getting to the point where I no longer loose multiple balls per round...(whewwwww).I have heard that at some point a ball should be retired. How do you know when that time arrives?

For me,it would be one of my wedges... they hate me.

For me it was the K Club in Straffen, County Kildare Ireland. Went there a few years ago on a company trip and it kicked my A__!

I would also say instruction. My game improved after only one lesson. I am not at a point where I will be arranging for another lesson.

I used to, yes. However I now go with the attitude this is for me. I do with the understanding I am going to the range for my own self improvement. I do not watch what others are doing, and I assume the other people are concentrating on their own game.

Not now, not ever.

In my opinion, 'Need' is a very subjective term. Did I 'need' a new bag for father's day? No, but I 'wanted' one.... LOL

I don't use them much anymore, but I found a product called 'almost golf' to be a good alternative to a real ball.
