  1. That's a funny idea, at least to tag em somehow to see if they resurface...
  2. I took a photo of my gps yardage next to the ball when I broke my 300 cherry... great feeling... Enjoy!

    hybrid

The Callaway x-hybrids were available in steel. I bag the 2h, 3h and 4h. Definitely sacrifices distance, but they do act perfectly as iron replacements... Going iron distances...
  4. That's terrific!
  5. I use the Srixon yellows... Combo of QStar and ZStar... Tried them when they came out and have just gotten used to them. Love the fact that I can tell my ball easily from groups members or strays. The ZStars are even easily differentiated from other yellow balls.
  6. There's a reason Golf is a four letter word! I played an outing once for the archdiocese of Newark... Big problem because I'm a big "Jesus!" guy after a bad shot. That round it was... "Jesus!... Sorry father."
  7. A little too much Magnesium I guess!
  8. Yeah, finally a good outlook for us. I'm going to open up my season on Friday since the course just opened. Haven't had a full swing in months... but I could care less!
  9. I think that's what my pitching might look like in 40 years... I have to admit my disappointment when the video ended and there was no CGI eagle taking a baby or anything...
  10. I shoot for once a week during the season... I think round one is this coming Friday!
  11. Iomic mid size... Feels great, really durable.
  12. I'd go D, 3w, 3h, 4h, 5-PW, GW, SW, LW, P
  13. Sounds like a good idea, but no intellectual property that I can see. You take the time to build a market, and someone with registered users will just adapt it. Golfnow.com comes to mind... it would be easy for them to add the feature... they could even allow bookings to be searched so you can find groups to join...
  14. Did balls occasionally set off mines? Or are they not that sensitive?
  15. http://proputtsystems.com/mas Same base as tour links... Better turf...
  16. I'm a hardass playing solo... regardless of who's watching, you're always playing for yourself trying to hit shots and post a good number. If a bear farts in the woods... still doesn't justify a foot wedge!
  17. I game older Callaway X hybrids with steel shafts... 18-21-24. I love the 2h and its actually the oldest club in my bag. If you swing flat, the 5 wood is probably easier, upright and the hybrid is. Some people love fairway woods and some love hybrids. I'm the latter. If you like your 3h than by all means a 2h is a logical choice.
  18. All time... Bernhard Langer. My first memory of golf was going to my Grandfather's golf club, Boca Pointe, for a lesson on the driving range. Walking down from the clubhouse my grandfather, Pa, saw a familiar face on the putting green so we swung by to say hello. They chatted for a few minutes about the course and the weather... and the rest of my trip Pa was giddy like a school girl for running into Bernhard that day with me. It's a shame Pa didn't live to see my love of the game rival his... but I do snatch up a few Langer memorabilia items to keep in my golf studio to remind me of that day. As far as players these days... there are so many good guys out on tour to route for.
  19. When the PN is long enough that the center axis of the shaft intersects the center of the putter face. The shorter the PN the more toe hang... Look at Scotty Cameron's long neck newports... They're face balanced. Or the PN can be located closer the the center and further from the heel...
  20. That's the rule...
  21. At least it wasn't stroke AND distance! Now and again we need reminders that health is paramount and the key to our longevity... if not for us than for our families. I feel your frustration. I currently have a torn tendon in my right hand that is even preventing me from practicing. I al leaning toward the broomstick for the season because oddly enough the tear bothers my putting grip more than my swing grip... so I could probably drive right now even though I can't putt. I'm reading the Stockton putting book right now... definitely worth the time!
  22. The difference in performance is out of moderate to severe rough. But nothing that pros can't accommodate for. Whether it helps or not... (Not) I prefer the box grooves for the odd shots that do take 2 hops and stop!
  23. Hahaha! I just announced my stockpile in an anchoring thread... I think I have 4 sets with 1 year of wear on 2 sets... so I'm peachy! Gonna use a broomstick this year as well...
  24. I've got box grooves to last till 2024! (Maybe... not that it really matters to us amateurs!)
