As the media digs deeper, it appears that Sharapova has been using this to get over so to speak. Using a drug for 10 years that the manufacturers say is designed for a 4-6 week usage??? All that and Serena is still her kryptonite.

It appears that since the forum moved to a new platform, that I now have 2 accounts. One is my original account, and the second is linked to my Facebook. I tried to change the email address on my original, but it won't allow me. Any help is appreciated.

What is your weirdest start/end to a round. Mine may have happened Saturday.......started off with a 9 due to an unfortunate tussle with a ball stuck in someone's bunker footprint. Ended with an eagle on a downhill/downwind par 5.

Here in North Texas, the majority of courses have cart girls. Attractiveness is hit or miss, but a general rule is the higher the price, the better looking the cart girl. It's to the point around here that one of the local golf periodicals has a cart girl of the month.

I've been thinking the same thing. For the courses I play on the regular, they send out emails that beat GolfNow prices all the time...

At certain temps, shorts should be allowed as an option. A pro that feels that his legs look like toothpicks probably won't wear them anyways. I'm trying to picture a major sponsor like Chase saying we don't want to renew b/c your golfers wear shorts....

In an effort to make some of you jealous, here in Dallas it is sunny and 73. That being said, where are the DFW golfers on here? I know we had a group meet up trying to get started a while back, but it fizzled out. I'd like to champion the re-incarnation of a DFW Sand Trap league or outing group. If interested, speak up.

Gambling on the golf course is it a necessity?
ElWagonne replied to Mike Boatright's topic in Golf Talk
Based on this statute's wording, RJ down on the 7th floor in my office is running a gambling house lol (or an annual fantasy football and NCAA bracket pool). However, I'm not disgruntled. -
I think Mr. 63 and his crew won't miss a beat by picking up the Open.

Almost seems like you need a fourth option for the poll 4) No, and I frown upon it when others do it around me -
Golf driving range bar and grill as a business?
ElWagonne replied to Mike Boatright's topic in Golf Courses and Architecture
Yep. The Dallas OG TopGolf has a grass practice area for serious practice, so it would work. -
The golf part was harsh......losing 1 1/8 scholarships per year will sting (though considering SMU's prototypical student, if a kid wants to go there, they'll probably end up there). Basketball, Larry Brown has had sanctions at every college job he's had and shops for jobs like women shop for purses, so it's not the most shocking thing in the world.

Not bad, missed 3 & 7. Forgot that your partner can't touch the spot, but can hover over a spot to indicate a line.

I would add staring down a name-brand down the stretch in a big event. This is how David Toms got on the radar, via staring down Mick at the PGA, or YE staring down Tiger.
-
Favorites: David Toms (golfer from my hometown that's NOT arrogant....other one comes off as such) Tiger (the great one) Ernie Els (just seems smooth) Least: Bubba Watson (manufactured, whiner) Keegan Bradley (last week's tussle put it over the top) Patrick Reed (this could change, though) R.I.P. Calvin Peete

Generally speaking 3. If the grass is tight and there are no obstructions, I'll break out the hybrid. For thicker grass, a PW. And for a shot with carry over a bunker or to a back pin, SW.

You would be surprised what a wager as small as a hot dog after the round will do to prep you for tournament golf.

Everybody that's telling you to play in tournaments is correct. (Played 2 years in college, but at my best I was only a 4/5 on my team). That being said, start local and build your confidence, b/c in a state like CO, you could go play in your state juniors and run into some kids that can shoot high 60's every round with their eyes closed. Also, find you a course that's at least 6800 yards. If you can consistently shoot sub 80, then you're making progress.
-
23 players shot 80 or above????? Means a good day for me on that track I might not break 100 lol

They have one here in Dallas this weekend. It is good to keep your Golf Digest subscription refreshed. Other than that.....bunch of timeshare or vacation advertisers, though Golfsmith and Edwin Watts used to have a decent selection. Not sure who thinks it's a good idea to close on the first day (Friday) at 6PM, but oh well.
