  1. She's a good player, got one major already, but I wonder if she's got that extra gear. Thus far she's not shown us that she's got a fifth gear. She doesn't win them in bunches, and hasn't dominated for a meaningful period, unlike say Yani, Stacy and now Inbee. She'll no doubt win more in the coming years but with many new younger rising stars coming out, I wonder if her best years are in the past.
  2. This chase for the grand slam has brought life back into the lpga. More than any short skorts could. Well played Inbee
  3. Sayonara Michelle. It wasn't even good while it lasted. Hope you find something else you like doing in life. It certainly ain't golf.
  4. Adios DD. Go work on the game in peace and see you on the Champions Tour.
  5. The poor lad is truly lost. But of course he'll always be just one shot from turning things around. Am surprised the golf channel hasn't installed him as a multiple major winner for this year and the 2013 FedEx cup favorite with a six win season starting with the Open Championship.
  6. He's the hillbilly Sergio equivalent on this side of the pond. Whiner.
  7. Michelle, oh Michelle ... If your heart's not in it, pls just hang your clubs up. No use living your father's dream, and making a fool of yourself. Oh, sorry I forget, you're doing this for the money. Oh well, you've got to do what you've got to do to put food on the table. Play on. Not your fault but I just wished the media would stop showing or discussing your pathetic game.
  8. This is just a great ad. Thanks for sharing.
  9. She's done. It's not her dream to be the best golfer in the world. She's not chasing any records. Eg Tiger chasing Snead and Jack. The family is set for life, even her father doesn't hound her like he used to. Game, set and match.
  10. Let's revisit this in a few years' time ... perhaps there'll be nothing to debate at that point ...
  11. Foley's students are doing pretty well in the past two years - TW, Rose, Hunter - he must be doing something right. Having said that, maybe TW needs a short game / putting coach. Where's Stricker when you need him?
  12. don't have a good feeling about Tiger this week, he just doesn't look sharp in any aspect of his game ... it's a pity his "run" since the start of the year has come to a halt at the Memorial, at an inopportune time in the golfing calender. Hope he gets his game back before the British and PGA and snags one major this year. Go Luke ... vindicate that (previous) #1 ranking, mate.
  13. ditto ... i don't impose my religious or moral values on others, as i hope they will not do the same to me.
  14. Golf is a global game today and the best women players in the world are not American. Cest la vie. Let's look at men's professional tennis - who represents USA today after Connors, McEnroe and Agassi? The multiple major champions of the past 3-5 years are Federer (Swiss), Nadal (Spanish), Djokovic (Serbian) and Murray (Scottish). Whether in tennis or on the LPGA, perhaps that (American) champion will come along again. Nothing is constant and in 5-10 years time, perhaps the Koreans won't be the dominant force anymore. Just enjoy the sports and saviour the champion athletes, where ever they may be from.
  15. there's a saying that you can't eat [FleurBurgers*] everyday i.e. no matter how good, rare, expensive, etc this dish is, if you're having it everyday, you'd soon tire of it. Eventually, you'd run out for a cheap and nasty Big Mac, Burger King or Wendy's or all three and then some ... ;-) * http://www.huffingtonpost.com/zagat/most-expensive-dishes_b_1366080.html
  16. too bad the course is going to be soft and wet ... maybe that'll bring out the best in Rory ... he seems to play best in such conditions !!!
  17. perhaps the most iconic pin up poster of all time (first pix) and the original "Angel" (last pix) ...
  18. I believe that mid (16+) to high (> 20) hcap men amateurs (who play once a week and without range sessions in between) would probably play distances in line with LPGA pros, if they were honest with their "average" vs "did you see that (one) shot at no. 12 (from the game three months ago)". Nothing to be ashamed of lads. Play on!
  19. I like Tiger's chances plenty. Memorial was a much needed wake up call after cruising to all those easy wins. He should come out to the US Open all fired up. Go Tiger!
  20. I'd believe that I'd want every single shot of my lead. Not having a lead is like spotting your playing partner a few strokes on the weekend, but both of you play off the same handicap. Doesn't make any sense at all. Further, the guy catching/surpassing a 54-hole leader is not necessarily the guy who's one or two shots behind...he could come from further down the pack e.g. 5 or 6-shots behind. So then, does the question become - "do you want to be 2nd, or 3rd, or 4th, etc at the end of Day 3?" When viewed this way, I think the answer is clearly to be in the lead.
  21. at that level, and with modern club fitting technology, the equipment these guys play make only a small difference, especially for the very best players ...
  22. hahahaha ... I think you've convinced me to go down the same road now.
  23. started with interlock, went to baseball, now settled with overlap grip ... to each his own ... if it works for you ... YAY !!!
  24. that guy WAS good ...
