  1. i saw it last night and was disgusted... i know he didnt mean for it to bounce off into the gallery but its still juvenile for him to even be throwing clubs in the first place. most young golfers i know adore tiger.... he isnt being much of a moral role model. if phil did that, i bet hed let the spectator he hit keep the driver. i would at least....
  2. x2. very forgiving. if you can get used to how wide the soles are... the i-10's are not that hard to hit either....
  3. i have the same problem... i hit my 2-5 irons beautifully... i actually hit more gir's from 200-180 yards out than i do from 150 in... i do tend to hit my shorter irons thin quite often... especially if theres water in play :) i dont try to help the ball up, i hit down on them quite hard, i just have a problem trying to stand up on my left leg on the follow through with short irons for some reason.. im working on getting it fixed ...
  4. make sure you hone the clubface after sharpening... otherwise you'll be replacing your balls everytime you hit them with your wedges...
  5. i think the vast majority of blades and muscle backs are very beautiful. some cb's like the ap line, the new ping i-15's.. and a few others are pretty attractive, but nothing beats the clean look of a forged blade...
  6. ive played a couple rounds with a set of s58's with stiff shafts... (i normally play regular) and they are surprisingly forgiving. they're not blades.. i honestly consider them a cross between a cavity back and a muscle back. the s57's look similar to the s58's so i assume they play pretty similar... i liked how they set up at address, i hate irons with alot of offset, they felt pretty good when i hit it pure and i could definetly tell when i miss-hit the ball... if i didnt like my hogans so much id definetly consider getting a set of s58/s57's....
  7. ive broken the head off a 3 wood by making solid contact with the ball off a tee before....(an old taylor made system 2) i wouldnt worry about it. at least they're sending you a new driver.
  8. i switched from rac os2's to my hogans purely for less offset. got tired of trying to hit a fade just to get the ball to go straight. but i play a natural draw.. so....
  9. i like watching dark horses come out of nowhere and win. i like watching tiger get beat in the final round even more. why?? maybe its just the fact that someone who isnt a big shot who actually gets a piece of the pie motivates me to become a better golfer.... or something like that... i was proud of y.e. yang when he won the pga.. i loved watching slocum win last week, (mainly cause i'm a Ping guy at heart)... the masters was an edge of the seat thriller and so were the vast majority of the tournaments... i hope next year the underdog prevails once again.. and phil wins a few more i want to see tiger win a few, but not every dang one of them.... that gets old quick, fast, and in a hurry....
  10. not only the toughest, but the best. Q: whats for supper?
  11. i have a 54*tour w that i carried last year.. its an awesome wedge. sometimes i regret getting the vokeys, i wish i just got a 58* tour w and had the 54's grooves refreshed...
  12. i dont carry one. i carry an old ping isi 2 iron instead. ive never been able to hit a hybrid for some odd reason or another....
  13. are you serious?? ive never heard this. i hit my 8 iron 150 does that mean i need extra stiff shafts?? i think not. i play reg. flex shafts in all my clubs except the fairway woods. and i probably need to reshaft it anyway.... i try to swing smooth... and look cool while i do it...
  14. the ping g10 and the rapture v2's do have a hot face... i demo'd both on a range and it was dang near impossible to get a bad shot out of them... havent hit the g15 so i cant say much about it... i say just demo a bunch and make your mind up based on the results... i'm not a fan of draw drivers, just fix your swing...
  15. pretty sure the ball isnt to blame for the distance gap between you and your buds.
  16. found a srixon ad333 in the rough 3 weeks ago. played it 32 straight holes before the cover finally bit the dust. its a great ball... im considering buying a couple dozen when my e5's run out....
  17. i have a 2 iron from my old ping isi set i put in the bag every now and then. it isnt that diffcult to hit or control.. i prefer to play it off the tee as opposed to a 3 wood... and it goes nearly as far as my 3 wood does... i rarely hit it off a tightly mowed fairway, unless i want to hit a shot low, long, and under a tree branch... when i miss the sweet spot though, its usually quite nasty.... i hate hybrids.. im much more comfortable with a long iron in my hand, but everybody's different, what works for me may not work for you...
  18. ive always heard people talk about how "hard" they are to play. not true.. or at least not in my case. even when i hit it slightly off center they still went just about as far and perfectly straight. i did love the feedback i got from them, i knew instantly whether or not i hit it pure... i dig the reduced offset. i used to miss everything left with my old cavity backs. had to pretty much play a fade with them to hit it straight... thats not the case with the hogans, i can actually line up square and not be scared chitless about hitting the ball left... i can see my game improving tremendously with these irons if i keep practicing and playing with them... plus.. they're beautiful, and that's important right?? 6iron.. sent pm regarding the ballpark...
  19. traded a buddy my old rac os2's for his hogans.... all i have to say is... DANG! these irons are the best ive ever hit.. ever. i tried to lay up on a par 5, i was 201 from the pin according to a rangefinder, pulled out a 5 iron and tried to hit it short of the green.. ended up hitting it completely pure and it landed in the fringe and rolled 10 ft from the hole. (yes.. i missed the eagle putt) there is no greater feeling than flushing a forged iron. i hit 9 shots that felt absolutely brilliant (the rest were slightly off center but still very playable.. i only had 3 shots that werent to my liking.. but i topped them)... i used to think you mizuno guys were crazy when yall talked about your irons being buttery.. but now i understand. i will never ever buy cast cavity backs again.. ever... im still replaying those beautiful "butter" shots over and over in my head.... playing again thursday.. we'll see if i still like them then... this thread has no value as far as the board is concerned.. i just had to get this off my chest.. i love these muscle backs... shot an 82 by the way.. best score of the summer...
  20. i demoed the ci7's. loved them. havent bought them yet though....
  21. kinda hard to screw up regripping clubs. you must be a lefty.
  22. i have an anser 2, anser 4, g5i anser, g2i craz-e, and a 50th anniversary anser. so far i like the 50th anniversary the best...
  23. never played a tp red or black.. but my driver came with 2 dozen burner tp's and ive played a sleeve of them .. they are great balls for the price. i will probably finish off the rest when my bridgestone stock runs out... my driving distance between the e5 and burner tp is the same... but the tp's seem to be alot straighter and higher launching...
  24. i had a feeling mizuno was going to get brought up.... my advice.. go hit every iron you can get your hands on. over and over again. go home. go back and hit every club again... then make up your mind. forget what anybody on here is telling you.. everybody swings different and has a different perspective on what "feel" is... mizuno irons are nice and buttery yes... but they may not be for you. get off this board and go hit something.
  25. i use mine often from 115-100 yards out. its also my favorite club to chip and run with from the fringe....
