Changed a bit since I have gotten older. If I have the first tee time at 6:15 AM, i just go hit one from the tee box and play it. If I play a little later, I generally hit 10 to 15 balls. 5 wedge, 5 with 7i, and 2 to 5 with driver. I like to putt on the practice green for 5 to 10 minutes if I can. That's it...

Let me say up front that I am not complaining....I play with 2 guys every week for fun, no money or wagers involved. I am not setting myself up as perfect, but I generally play by the rules. I do not take mulligans and try to play every ball into the cup. The only time I get a "gimme" is if I hit it close and one of my playing partners picks my ball up and we move to the next hole. i only hit one ball off each tee, and I take my medicine, but my playing partners may hit 2 or 3, especially off the first tee. From the fairway, I take my medicine and play it like it is and live with the results. They may take a couple of shots at the green if their shot is not a good one. Last week, when we got back to the trucks and the scores were shared, I had a 92, #1 had a score of 84 and #2 had a score of 85. My conclusion is, I play my game and let them play their game. I know what I shoot but they really never know what they shoot or what their true score is. Playing again Friday morning....Goal is to break 90...

How does moving interval from 7 minutes to 15 minutes affect the COVID 19 issue? Nothing has changed at the course I play except for an inverted cup and do not touch the flag. You can purchase food/beverage but you cannot eat or drink in the clubhouse. They never closed and have had more people playing and using the range than they ever did; INMHO, changing the intervals between groups is an over reaction and for appearance only. You want to stop "No Show", make them pay in advance with no refund if canceled within 48 hours of the scheduled tee time.

I have never written a review before so this is really just what I learned/experienced. I needed some golf balls so I went to the Golf Shop, looked around and decided to venture out and try some different golf balls. i bought 2 dozen Mizuno RB566V ($29.99/dozen) and played 2 rounds. Right off the bat, on the first tee, i knew something was different. The ball just did not feel right off the driver an i hit it pretty good. Right down the middle and slightly left of center. The problem was that it was about 15 yards shorter than I am used to. Next shot was a 6i to the green. Ball went a little right and again, was about 10 yards shorter than normal...This was the story all day long. However, with wedge shots to the green, the ball seemed to bite pretty good, but not a hop and stop... I played a second round with these balls and had the same experience as in the first round. So here is my take on these golf balls: Feel: I can't really come up with a word for it, but it was not a soft ball and not like a rock. Felt different and sounded different. Distance: Short off the driver and irons. Around the green: pretty good but not what you get with a premium ball. (I do not normally play the premium balls) Result: I used 6 balls and gave the remaining 18 to my brother who usually plays Noodle golf balls. We will see how he likes them. Me, I gonna stick with my $25 a dozen balls (Cheaper when I can find them). Maybe the RB566V will work for some, but not for me...If you try them, post a review and lets see if we agree or feel differently.

Usually first or second tee time in morning, 6:15 AM. Put shoes on at home, pull into parking lot, grab bag, put on a cart, pay for round, go to 1st tee and i am off...Generally finish between 8:30 and 8:45, then off to coffee shop for hot Mocha and Blueberry Muffin....that is my routine...I play with my two younger brothers and their routine is the same, except they don't do the coffee shop. I'm 71 and they are 63 and 62...

Callaway SuperSoft...been my go to ball for about 3 years...

Make the assumption you are 150 yards out and your club for this distance is a 7i... 1. Ball above your feet 2. Ball below your feet 3. Ball on Up Hill lie 4. Ball on Down Hill lie

shot 86 yesterday, 43/43....This is lowest score I have ever shot...No 7's and only one 3 putt...Gonna give it another shot Friday...

Played yesterday and will play again Friday. Will keep playing as long as it stays open. The course I play at said they will stay open as long as they let them...

I hate a slow pace of play---I need to keep moving and play better with a little quicker pace of play. I love golf because I love to be outdoors and I always enjoy playing against the course...

Golf Gods giveth and taketh away... My brother on a 122 yard par 3 with water in front tops the tee shot and 3 skips it onto the green. Has 8’ putt for birdie and ends up with a bogey after the par putt lipped out...Golf Gods definitely have a sense of humor...

I struggled today...Shot a 95 at Royal in Slidell, LA. Had broken 90 my previous 3 rounds but had some minor surgery (Dermatologist removed some stuff off my back and stomach so I had some stitches in both places) and I guess that affected my swing a bit. I left 5 pars on the course by leaving putts inches short (not a result of stitches) and duffing a couple of chips...Oh well, gonna give it another go next week...

I am just waiting for the thing to die and go away...If there is so much hate for this method, etc. why do people keep coming back and keeping it alive. Let it go...

Remember, we are talking about the average player, not the very low handicapper. I don't think it makes much difference at all which ball the average golfer plays. I would consider myself average and have played with premium balls and cheap balls and the scores are about the same, FW's hit is about the same, GIR are about the same, and putts are about the same. Now, that being said, I do not play used balls, refurbished balls, or balls that are hard as rocks. I have reached a point, as an average golfer, that I like to play the same ball every round and have been playing the Wilson Elite 50. It is not expensive, it is not the softest ball out there and neither is it the hardest ball out there. Doesn't spin and stick like a premium ball but I can get spin off of it with wedges from about 100 yards into the green. Another issue is maybe how many balls a round you lose. I generally lose 1 or 2 balls around, except for today....I played 18 and did not lose a ball... I am a senior golfer (71) and can still get about 200 off the tee with the driver. That is my 2 cents on this topic...

Played Royal in Slidell, LA last Monday and this morning. Shot 87 last week and 88 today. Ground still pretty wet and got breezy as the morning went on. 59* when started this morning and was 70* when started.

I don't think you need to lengthen the golf courses at all. Maybe change the shape/architecture of the course a little bit. Maybe they could make the fairway from tee to green a different shape. Just take the fairways, say from 250 yards and in to the green and make it significantly narrower with a much tougher rough and more hazards for missed fairways. The tougher rough would start at the very edge of the fairway, not a gradual build up of the rough. If you want to go for it and you can hit it 315 yards, that is okay, but you need to hit it accurately 315 yards to be in the fairway or you pay a price. This would make most of the players calculate more of the risk/reward than doing what they do now. The rough and hazards need to be really tough and could make it harder to hit GIR than hitting 2nd shot from say160 yard out. Just a thought that would not require the lengthening of courses or altering the performance of equipment.
