At one point during the Amateur, there was a really great explanation on the effects of the elevation. I forget at what point. Basically, the decreased air density causes less drag which allows the ball to travel much further. I also believe your trajectory is a little lower as well, which would give you greater roll out

Got my annual rejection notice today. Can you take a +1....🤣

Group Instruction Session NY/OH/PA (@ Golf Evolution)

I would love to do this. I wish I was not so far away. -
When I first read the polling question, I thought it would be cut and dry. As I sat and thought about it, I came up with different scenarios that made the decision more difficult than I had anticipated. I like trying new courses, as others have stated, but I also have the side of me that likes knowing the course and trying to better my score there. Not to mention wanting to get redemption at some course where the round did not go that well. And it somewhat depends on how many rounds I am playing. If multiple, then most definitely will try a new course. Most of my playing buddies are up for new courses as well. But as @klineka stated, if it is a money match or something of that sort, we will pick a course that is familiar. Ultimately, I voted for checking out a new course. I'd like to think if I had the chance to see a new course, I would take the opportunity. Otherwise, I may be missing out on what could be a new favorite.

I actually just read about the Pro package. That seems pretty promising.
-
Initially, yes but it’s not a deal breaker over accuracy.
-
I am about to pull the trigger here but I have ran across a GC2 launch monitor at a really good price. Any thoughts on the GC2 versus the Mevo+ ?
-
I joined a golf simulator forum on Facebook to get some reviews and ideas. I have read quite a few stating the Mevo+ is not very accurate indoors? What are your thoughts on this subject? Is it really inaccurate indoors? I didn’t really want Skytrak because I’m RH and Jacob is LH so we would have to turn it constantly.
-
Something retractable is very interesting. Do you think it would be better to hit into a retractable net and display it on the tv as a monitor or invest in a hitting bay with a screen and just project it there? Area C can be taken up by a permanent setup with no issue. Mevo+ is really the direction I am thinking. My son is left handed so it would be much better than spinning a Skytrak constantly.
-
Maybe that drawing will help some. The tv and drain are really the only fixed things in there at the moment. Obviously, the tv could be moved but that is where it currently hangs on the wall.
-
Agreed. I built it with a simulator in mind but kind of want to expand on that some now. I have all the wood working tools needed to build whatever, so that should be an issue. I actually have a friend that has a pretty big putting setup that he hasn't used in years. I am going to try and buy that from him. I can, yes. I just threw this together really quickly at work. I'll work on that at lunch Haha...I only did that so when I was explaining things within my verbiage, it would make it easier than saying "the top right hand corner."

Have You Ever Walked Off the Course During a Bad Round?
TN94z replied to ChetlovesMer's topic in Golf Talk
Unfortunately, I have walked off before. I have usually only done this if I feel that something in my swing is way off and I do not feel like I can get it back on track. These were just casual rounds and we are members so it's not a big deal for me to walk off. If I am paying to play 18 at a different course or something, I will stick it out and just play whatever game I have because I am a tightwad with my money...haha -
A couple years ago, I built a 48x36 shop at my house and it has a pitched roof that is 12ft at the walls (I think) and runs up to 16ft in the middle. Over that time period, I have used it to do an engine swap on a truck that I had and we have one area where we wash cars. I have finished the swap on my truck and I am debating on using a large area (if not the majority) of the shop as a practice area and I wanted to get input from everyone here on the best setup. From the picture I have attached (it was a quick rendering, so don't beat me up too bad on it...haha) I have shown how the shop is setup. To make it somewhat easier to discuss, I broke it up into 4 quadrants. A is where I worked on the truck so that is where my tools and tool box and things stay. B is pretty much open and just houses the golf cart when it's home or whatever needs to just sit. C currently has a friend's race car sitting there but it will be leaving before long. I was just housing it for him. D has a drain in the floor and is where we normally wash cars. I have a television already hanging on the wall in quadrant C. The original plan was to install a 4 post lift in A, but I think I am leaning more towards using that money for a simulator to install somewhere. So what do you guys think? How should I set the shop up for practice? Lets assume I want to have section A available for working on cars and section D available for washing cars. By available, I mean, any practice equipment that is in those areas could be easily moved to accommodate those requests. Nothing is definite really, so just throw whatever thoughts you have out there, please.

I have several shotguns, handguns, and rifles. I used to be into long range but got tired of spending 100.00 every time I went to shoot. I sold that one. I used to shoot a lot but not since the ammunition craze has taken off. I now just try to find ammo at a decent price in case it continues to go up.

I am actually about to start trying to trim up too. I had good success last time with just counting calories. I have tried almost all diets and have had success with all of them. Counting calories works better with my lifestyle than most other diets. I liked Keto as well.

I agree here. I think that Bryson going through a cut is just the natural process that happens when you put on size. In my opinion, if he leans down, he will "look" bigger than he is now. I believe he sees his window to be the best and he is doing everything to make that happen "now." Going through a cut and shedding some of the fat may even allow him to reach greater swing speeds. Bryson is a smart guy. I think he tones it down when it's time to tone it down.

I just read that he had a rod put in his tibia and had screws and pins in his ankle. It was a short update like that so I don't know the details (this is probably the link that @iacasshared but I cannot read anything Twitter related at work, so I apologize if this is a repost). They were also saying in the press conference last night that there was very little damage to the interior of the vehicle and that the jaws of life weren't used. They just had to use a pry bar to get him out. Hopefully he recovers like others have said so that he can play golf with his kids. I think that and the fact that he is still alive is the main thing.

That is a SERIOUS consideration. If it wasn't for Emma, that would be the plan for sure. It's not completely off the table yet. I could build me a sim room in that spot...haha.- 438 replies

I am going to have to bow out as well. The estimates I am getting to repair my pool aren't looking good and I will need every dime I can gather. Replacing all of the concrete is not going to be cheap....sorry guys.- 438 replies

Cases are actually dropping in my area. So much so that they had a Covid floor changed back to normal patient care last week. That's a significant improvement. Edit: Maybe not total positive cases but in house patient numbers have dropped. I'll word it that way

Welcome to The Sand Trap from a fellow West TN golfer. You picked a great site to learn and work towards getting the handicap even lower.
