  2. I was 14 years of age, and I'm almost 51 now. My father started me out in a league. The best part was I was just 14 and I was playing every Sunday with grown men. Put it this way, it was excellent exposure at age 14!
  3. Last summer I stepped up to a Par 4 dog leg right and I hit a perfect tee shot leaving me just about 60 yards out for my pitch shot left in to the Green. There was no doubt the pitch shot to the pin was on target, it went dead straight with a couple of bonces and short roll right in. It was a sweet Eagle.
  4. I'm starting to get chubby. In order to continue to play half decent golf, I better drop about 20 pounds, otherwise I will be bigger than Craig Stadler and John Daly
  5. Golf can be an obsession in terms of equipment, so my worse bargain this past offseason was stock piling several boxes of Golf Balls. I over did it ten fold...duh.
  6. I've recently upgraded from an old set of Ping Eye2 irons to Ping G30's. I've read that the improvement will be substantial, but I'll have to wait and see about that.
  7. Most Pros have a swing routine....they take 2 practice swings and then step up and take the shot right away. A Pro told me while I was standing over the ball too long and over-thinking what to do before a shot that I was making a mistake. He told me to take 1 or 2 practice swings and then step-up and take the shot. In other words, don't think too much just before you swing at the ball.
  8. Good for you, sir. For a Slapper like myself, when a fairway shot gets to be over 190 yards I find it difficult. This year I'm hoping to improve this sort of Golf shot with a Ping I25 fairway wood.
  9. So many answers to this question...... mine is the full-swing gap wedge, which is especially good for a slapper like myself.
  10. Oops, I should include the following quote with my entry: PING is going to help me be fast and forgiving with the new G Driver and Crossover!
  11. Charl Schwartzel -12 Adam Scott -10 Rory Mcilroy -9
  12. Certain pieces of equipment you just can't do without. Not wearing Golf Shoes would be like missing my entire set of irons in the bag......gotta have them!
  13. This is the other one that is very similar. It says it is made of the "finest Cabretta leather," and Titleist is correct about this. IMO, you get what you pay for in a golf glove. These Titleist gloves are the most expensive to choose from but when you put this glove to a new grip you know you have a sweet piece of equipment on your hands. I keep them in the pouch that comes with the glove in order to preserve it.
  14. That's a sweet glove to put on your hand. Best glove I've ever worn.
  15. Each to their own I supoose, but I would tend to hoist a couple AFTER the game, not during.
