  1. I seem to hit the controlled hook better than the controlled fade for some reason. I line up directly at my target like I was going to hit a normal shot and then turn my body clockwise until I'm going to clear what I need to. I then move the ball back in my stance and pretty much hit a punch like the previous poster. For some reason I can't get similar results when trying to slice it. The ball just starts out way right in that case
  2. I think it's the player. My dad and I are both about a 11 HC. He's straight off the tee box and hits fairways but struggles with his short game. I struggle off the tee box (i.e. OB and punching out of the woods) but chip and putt pretty well.
  3. Thinking about rotating my hips properly has helped my game. That's my only thought though. Rotate the hips back in the swing and then uncoil. Everything else is just along for the ride. can't believe how much better I hit the ball doing that
  4. Was thinking the same thing.. LOL
  5. If she's earned 6 million she could purchase a 1M house and not have a mortgage. A millionaire 6 times over pretty much lives where they want within reason This little gem is only 4.9 million.. So she's got a million left over. I could live on that :D
  6. Was working with my instructor tonight and having a hard time turning through the ball. I want to slide. I've been doing the drills etc but when I get over a ball for some reason it didn't click. Well tonight I think it might have and the funny thing is.. fixing my hips in my backswing sure does make the through swing easier. I started turning clockwise in my backswing until I thought my butt was facing the target (I'm not that flexible, I know it wasn't). After doing that and keeping my posture good it sure made it easy to turn through the ball better and not slide. Worked with driver all the way down to wedge I feel better about my golf swing today. So needless to say I'm happy
  7. I'm going through the same thing TN94z. When I do the 9-3 drill I feel like I'm hitting punch shots but my impact position is a lot better. Full swings go right back to my old habits though.
  8. LOL.. A 66 on one hole
  9. Just took 10 minutes to convince me i can make my ugly swing work

    Loud Crowds

Enthusiasm for well played shots is great. Clapping, cheering etc. Hollering stuff out like it's the Jerry Springer show has got to go
  11. I've never wanted a ball or to save a stroke that bad
  12. I do that also. I'm not walking back to the tee on a busy day. I'll normally just take 2 strokes for the OB and then a 3rd for not playing from the right spot so I'm hitting 4. I know that's not correct Other rules are unintentionally broken I'm sure. I don't play tournaments or gamble on golf though so it's not like it really matters at that point
  13. Played with a guy last week that had the worst reverse pivot I've ever seen. He also came over top of the ball. 14 (non-par3) holes.. he missed 1 fairway. He hit a wood from 125 yds. hit driver maybe 200 tops. Played from the tips Walked off with an 80 and kicked my butt
  14. Tiger shoots 66 and makes the cut
  15. In my never ending quest for more consistency I've been studying touring players and seeing where their bodies and hands are at impact. One thing I've noticed is that their lead hand is facing the target and almost pointing down. My lead hand ... well... doesn't it's kind of pointing 20 degrees to the right. I'm trying to get a picture from my video clip but I haven't figured that out yet for example. here's tigers impact position Tiger Impact Here's my swing facing me . You can see in the video the back of my lead hand isn't pointing at the target. What can I do to work on this?
  16. Typically I hit it in the woods. Throw a tiger tantrum ( ). Go punch out or take penalty and try to make par/bogey the hard way
  17. Jamie Sadlowski is the world long drive champion. Talking about him? 150 mph swing speed and 215+ ball speed. WOW

    no glove?

my hands sweat. A LOT. I wear a glove to combat that. I dont' worrya bout calluses that much. My hands rarely blister

    playing "strict"

Agreed.. there's no reason to be strict when walking off at 150. Improve your lie, move your ball, drop. Just learn to hit it and get around the course. Keeping strict score comes later
  20. Cool. That was going to be something I suggested
  21. I saw it 2 or 3 during coverage of the british. I never knew where the commentator got the information though. I thought they were just making educated guesses and would miss every once in a while
  22. You and me both brother. When I just wanted to knock the crap out of the ball and didn't care what happened golf was a lot more fun (and ironically I was better). Now that I'm trying to get good at it my brain has taken over and I'm worse.. Sucks
  23. I'm a member of a very tight and pretty long course lined by woods etc.. It's difficult and you must be VERY accurate. It's punishing if not. The old courses I played weren't this bad but I'm learning how wayward I really am and it's very frustrating. I was mad about shooting 85 in the past and right now if I shot 85 I'd be happy.. LOL
  24. My game/swing is GONE. I have no clue where the ball is going and can't make solid contact at all it seems. Between OB and hazards and coming up short because I'm not hitting the ball solid there is not a word to describe how I feel vs how hard I've been working on getting better.
  25. 90.. 49 on the front with 22 putts and 2 penalty strokes. Talk about not hitting it or putting it well. 41 on the back and bogeyed the final 3 because of missing easy up and downs. Still didn't strike the ball well but seemed to keep it close Round #2 coming up :D
