Regatta Bay is on my list to play next. Don't think you can go wrong with that choice. Links Sandestin was tight. Luckily my 4-hybrid was flying straight off the tee that day. I think I hit driver on only 2 holes.

I live in Tallahassee. Playing Windswept Dunes this Friday. It's in Freeport, north of Santa Rosa Beach. Will give a report after I play, but it is supposed to be spectacular. The only courses I have played in Destin are Kelly Plantation and The Links Golf Club at Sandestin. The Links course was fun. Short and a ton of water.

I sold a driver on eBay last year. It was in good shape when I dropped it off at the post office. Upon delivery, the buyer claimed there was a small dent in the crown. There were no dents when I shipped it, so either it occurred in transit (most likely) or the buyer dented it upon receipt (doubt it). The buyer asked for a refund, and I asked him for some pictures of the dent, pictures of the box, etc - just to make sure he wasn't trying to pull one on me. He accused me of lying and selling a damaged club and filed a dispute with eBay. They issued him a refund and had him ship the club back to me. I would have refunded his money anyway, but was trying to get as much info on how the damage may have occurred. I am surprised eBay did not rule in your favor. They always seem to be biased towards the buyers rather than sellers.

Whatever works man. Even if you play best with a different brand for each club (unlikely I think, but you never know), then go for it. It's all about what you can hit the best and most consistent. Driver: Ping G400 LST 4 wood: something I found in my grandpa's shed 3h: Ping Rapture (from Play It Again Sports) 4h: Callaway RAZR (from eBay) 5-G: P790s SW: Taylormade Milled Grind LW: Cleveland RTX3 Putter: Ping Karsten TR 2

I had been debating purchasing a JumboMax grip for my driver to try out for a couple months now. I had a Golf Pride Jumbo on my previous driver and liked the extra thickness it provided. I am a tall guy (6'5") with average size hands for my height, so normal sized grips, and even midsize, just feel very skinny to me. Two weeks ago I purchased and installed the JumboMax JMX UltraLite in a large, which is a plus 11/32" over standard. I didn't want to go larger than this as I wanted something thick, but not monstrous. I have since played two rounds with the grip installed and I am driving the ball straighter than I have since I upgraded my driver back in May. I am consistently hitting baby fades which is my go-to shot. My main miss with the driver is a slice, and in two rounds I have no hit a slice (couple bigger fades but nothing even close to calling a slice). It has only been two rounds, so time will tell if it is actually the grip or if I am just in a zone with my driver right now. I do really like the feel of the grip. It feels much more natural for my larger hands, and I feel as though it increases my ability to keep the club face consistent through my swing. My two hybrids are in need of a re-gripping, so I will try the JumboMax out on those clubs next. It will be a while before my irons need to be re-gripped. Just wanted to post a short review in case anyone else was interested. The most recent posting on this site related to JumboMax was a 2017 comment on a 2011/2012 thread. Side note, I was interested to see that these grips have been around for much longer than I thought. I think Bryson has been playing them for quite a while now, but I know I just recently heard of them within the last few months.

Thing Screwed to Grip of Putter - Counterweight Device?
gray replied to gray's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Wow, that is exactly what it is. Didn't even cross my mind. I'll give it to my grandpa. Thanks! -
Did what? Not mark his ball? If so, was he lifting from the rough and placing in the fairway, or similar? If he just wasn't marking and placing his ball in about the same spot, what's the big deal?

You mean manually tagging my club and shot every time? That isn't something I want to do. I need it to be as seamless as possible, which is why I am leaning towards Shot Scope (no tagging).
-
I am done with Game Golf. Played last week and none of my tagged shots appeared. Tried to edit the round online and it took forever just to get their website to load, then it kept timing out. I really like the ideas behind the shot tracking technology, so I am very disappointed. Think I am going to give Shot Scope a try.

140 yard par 3 over water that always plays a club longer. I stupidly hit my 140 yard club and of course came up short in a bunker. Ball was plugged deep, almost completely buried. And I was just behind the lip of the bunker, which was about 3 feet higher than where my ball was. Impossible shot, I thought. Swung as hard as I could and slammed my lob wedge right behind the ball. Popped out perfectly and rolled to about 18” for a par. Probably my best sand save ever.

I avoid GolfNow with the exception of Hot Deals, and I was not aware that TeeOff was bought out. I had actually just booked a Hot Deal at a local course about an hour ago. Green fee was $25, plus $3.49 in fees and $2.18 in taxes. TeeOff has the remaining 2 spots for the tee time (I only purchased 2 out of 4) for $27, with no fees, and $2.02 in taxes. I checked several other courses and TeeOff was consistently $2 higher than GolfNow. So it appears that while they are keeping with their no booking fees policy, the are still getting some/most of that money by charging more.

Anyone Still Playing PING G30 Driver?
gray replied to Double Drops's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I'm playing a G25 driver still. It is a good club for me. I can hit it high and long, with generally low spin (most of the time). I don't plan on replacing it anytime soon. -
Two Players Penalized at LPGA Q-Series for Not Knowing Rule
gray replied to RemyM's topic in Rules of Golf
Is it really believable that these 2 players (and caddie) didn't know this was illegal? I always thought this was one of the most well-known rules of golf. I know it was LPGA Q-School but come on. -
I absolutely love Juliet Falls. It's about 3.5 hours from my house, so I've only played it twice. Was just there in early August. Great layout and conditions.
-
Topped my 4-wood off the tee on a 340 yard Par 4. Had 240 left to the flag, downhill. Could see the top of the flag from where I hit but couldn't see the green. Crushed my 3-hybrid, knew it was online. Delighted to find it 2 feet from the hole. Drained the birdie putt.

I do this regularly when I play scrambles. When I enter a scramble, my team never expects to win anything (and that isn't why we enter). My main reason is because usually I am last to hit off the tee, so I use a cheaper ball since I am normally trying to pound one, and there is a decent chance I will lose the ball. If I do find the fairway, then I will switch to one of my preferred balls for playing to the green.

There is a course in Valdosta that might be worth your time. The Nationwide/Web.com Tour had a tournament there, the South Georgia Classic, from 2007-2014. I have not played it, but my grandpa has several times. Supposed to very nice. I was drawn for last year's but not this year. I am very disappointed. I had a great time.

I can't comment on the gear they normally have for sale during the Masters, but they had pretty much all types of Masters merch that I could think of for sale on Saturday. I didn't want to get anything that said 'Masters 2019' since that wasn't the event I attended, but they did have a ton of that merchandise for sale. Bought a hat and a tshirt. I played very well tee to green. Couldn't read the break on the greens to save my life. A lot of fun though.

I was there from 7:30am to 2:30 pm. I didn't see the last group play at all. We followed Amanda Dougherty (Go Noles!) the first 9 holes, then walked with some other groups for the second nine. Spent some time around Amen Corner, 16 green, and 18 green. I must say, this was a fantastic event to attend. I mainly wanted to go to see the course, but I thoroughly enjoyed watching the ladies play. They can flat out play some golf. They did much better on this course than I imagined they would. I don't know if the greens were at the same speed they will be for the men this week, but I did witness multiple putts that were lightning fast. I have not attended the Masters so I cannot comment from personal experience, but I did overhear several other patrons who said for the enjoyment of watching actual golf and seeing the course, this was a much better event to attend. I will definitely be entering for tickets next year (assuming this is continued). Also, local courses didn't yet have the Masters Week rates applied, so played at Aiken Golf Club on Friday for a very reasonable $30. Very cool course.

I have only entered the lottery for the Masters the last 2 years, but have not been drawn. I was drawn for the ANWA, and will be there on Saturday. My guess is far less people entered for this tourney, especially being the inaugural, but who knows. I am mainly going to see the course for the first time, but will hopefully enjoy watching some of the women play as well.

Not yet. About to start building a house so trying to save funds where I can. Might try to make it up there in the spring. Did make the short drive up to Dothan about a month ago to play Highland Oaks and had a great time there.

Looking for last minute recommendations. Staying south of St. Augustine Beach for Labor Day weekend. There have been some older posts on this area but I am looking for more recent input. Have done a lot of research online and have narrowed it down to Palm Harbor, St. Johns Golf and Country Club, and Golf Club of South Hampton. I have played Slammer & Squire and Royal St. Augustine last year, so looking to do something different this time around. Anyone played those 3 recently and recommend one over the other? I've played North Hampton in Fernandina several times. Looking at the website South Hampton seems similar.
