  1. were you playing at The Navy Course in Seal Beach? i know that where he learned at.
  2. i own it and i personnally love it... i had the 420 version with the MWT, and to be honest, the 460cc is better especially if your a mid to high handicapper. i dont use the whole MWT so the 420 was a waste, i set up my 460 to a NU position to help make my fade a little more pronounced, and when its a predominantly right to left course ill go with Neutral Right. get the TP version or youll be changing out the shaft relatively quick. overall its a good club, i still pull out my ping G10 every now and then, but im glad i spent the money for the R9
  3. i would kill to have a waffle house in california... KILL!!! i miss it so much from my time when i was stationed in south carolina...
  4. bang for the buck go with R-7's, a lot of places have them for 399 right now (golfsmith, dicks, tgw, rogerdunn) if your willing to spend another 300 id recommend the 09 Burners, they're DESIGNED for game improvement and "intermediate shot shaping" callaways x18-r are same price as the r-7's but to be honest youll get much forgiveness with the r7s and even more with the 09 burners (i hit shots off the toe and heel and still got amazing distance with the burners.)
  5. as soon as a ball shows scuffs it goes into a side pocket and i end up marking it as a practice ball after the round. on an average, assuming i dont stray into a cart path or hit a tree, i go through one ball on the front 9 and one on the back 9.
  6. Tees 3-5 Sleeves of TP Reds Sunscreen Extra Contacts Sunglasses Ball Retriever putting aid for practice alignment shafts for practice extra glove extra visor (for when its too hot for a hat) deodorant green sharpie divot tools some sort of snack (sammich, apple, orange, granola bar, trail mix) groove cleaner
  7. 5-9, 32" Ping Anser Redwood, had to order it from the Ping because i didnt want to buy a 33 and shave an inch off.
  8. anyone know about how to go getting a shaft for the new R9? currently have the Fubuki that comes stock with the TP version, but im not too crazy about it. question is can i go with a normal shaft and get the threading done for the adjustable head? or is that a "go through taylormade" thing?
  9. im not a fan of the Amy putter, but i seriously am debating about changing out my Ping Redwood Anser to Yes!'s Nicky or Callie model, i played a round with my father in-law's Nicky and the ball just seems to come of the face in a more true nature, i think it has to do with the c-groove that they incorporate.
  10. i mark over the number of my Taylormade TP Reds with a 27 in a green sharpie, i also put one green dot on the AIM stamp before the TP-Red on the side
  11. i volunteer at the Northern Trust Open and work as Player Transportation. Its a great way to meet players and their wives. just this year alone i drove: Padraig Harrington and his wife Brian Gay and his wife Jeeve M. Singh Tommy Armour III James Nitties Geoff Ogilvie Mark Wilson (gave me like 10 Ping Visors, even though i tried to deny them) but while driving those players around you get to talk with them on a level that is like no other. and with traffic the way it is going from Riviera CC to LAX, you get a good hour just shooting the shit with these pros. the best one i drove this past tournement, was Mark Wilson, but i had the pleasure of playing in the Pro-Am with him on wednesday. Took him to his hotel, met his parents and in-laws, had a coffee with his entire family while we waited for traffic to die down, and then got his personal email to set up time to golf whenever he comes to Los Angeles. he is an AMAZINGLY nice person. i even got a hug from his mom before we left to the airport. while your in this position of having pros less than 2ft from you for an hour its very unproffessional to ask for anything like an autograph. i consider it an honor to just be able to talk to them as a normal person... hell kimberly gay even bought me in-n-out while we killed time driving from the hotel to the course.
  12. heres my view... Titleist is losing ground in the ball market. Srixon ZStar/X and TMades TP red/black, are great balls. I know ive been able to get people off their Titleist kick by selling them on the TP Red/Blacks. its not hard to get them off behemoth of a ball maker... one line always get em "the guy who developed the ProV1, developed the TP red/black" and with that they put the box of titleist's down and grab the taylormades, next thing you know, its all they buy. honestly ill play a top flight before a titleist, i think they are the stella artois of the ball world, arrogant and aloof. play a TMade, Srixon, or Bridgestone and go against the status quo. Sidenote: I wouldve loved it if Tom Watson would have won the Open, but in retrospect im glad he lost because thats one less Titleist commercial i have to watch, exclaiming that "Titleist has won in its kajillionth Championship"
  13. whos sick of Tiger...
  14. Mark Wilson for being an all around good guy, played in the Pro-Am with him at this years Northern Trust Open. Sergio Garcia, just because

    Military

best job in the military: Air Traffic Control, USAF my reasoning: -Mandated work hours, normal 8hrs a day (10hr Max), federal law requires 12hrs of rest in between shifts. -Real amount of work actually done per day when your a certified 5-lvl, about 2hrs. -you tell pilots where to go. they don't listen, they don't fly next time. only enlisted job that officers have to follow orders from. (i grounded a Wing commander for 2months for failure to adhere to FAA regulations, e-5 ruining an o-6's day, priceless) -normally a 4 day week, some bases do 5, and deployed you'll 6 SRB should you choose to stay in for 20 is insanely high and only combat controllers and pararescuemen have a higher reenlistment bonus. should you choose to get out, you could get a job with the faa and reach a 6 figure salary in about 6years, become a contractor overseas in OIF/OEF and make 150k/year, or chase that elusive Dubai ATC job (3years in Dubai at 5mil. home and car provided) ATC in the USAF provides the best financial post military career.
  16. 2006 Toyota Corolla (wife usually drives) 1993 Ford Mustang GT (i usually drive)
  17. to be honest im sick of hearing of titleist this, titleist that when it comes to balls... i get that they're the most popular, but i cant be the only one who realized when Cink won the open, that the first thought through my mind was "THANK GOD, I don't have to see a commercial saying titleist won at the Open" personally i think the 2009 ProV1 and its 1x brother arent as durable as its predecessor. i went from the ProV's to the TP Reds and can honestly say im not turning back. To the OP: best advice is buy sleeves of balls, ProV1/x, TP red/black, Cally HX/i or whatever brand you lean towards and give them an honest to goodness round.
  18. currently working at a Golfsmith selling golf clubs... once october comes around ill be working for the FAA as an air traffic controler in San Diego, CA
