What irons would you recommend for a 90s shooter?
TheJuice replied to ScottL's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Check out the Nike Victory Red Split Cavities, I think you might like them. -
What grips are you guys using?
TheJuice replied to Msokol13's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I just put Wynn Excels on my Driver, 3W, and Hybrid... I liked them alot. -
The only response I would have is - going from 105ish to 95ish is easier than going from say 85 to 75 or 90 to 80.
-
I choose this as well.
-
I would like to reiterate this. Just messing around with my CG14 in the front yard feels amazing because of the control.
-
I have the 909 3W and love it. When I was deciding on hybrids the 909 was at the top of my list... but the Nickent beat it out. You should check out some Nickents, they surprised me after I was almost set with the 909. They are also a little cheaper - a new one will run you $100 while a 909 would be like $180... just a guess.
-
Yah, I was about to say - you played out of your socks with that short game and shots 100 and in, well done.
-
Yah he it over 380 the other day, whoever said that.

I played Rugby in High School as well. After playing nearly every sport, Rugby was by far the most fun. It definitely stresses the importance of working as a team. Although I am glad to see 7s as a potential Olympic sport, I would rather see a full squad competing, but I am still happy nonetheless.

Bettinardi or Cameron Putters

Got my Scotty new for $150 at Golfsmith - loving it. I am glad I picked one up that day and checked the price on it. Normally I would just ignore them knowing they were too far out of my price range. -
McCoy is disgusting. Out of all those names on that list, as a Cowboys fan, he will worry me the most in the future. I remember watching him his freshman year at Pitt, he literally carried that team to the top 25 ranking. He was also the reason WVU did not make it to the national championship 2 years ago. I don't think Maclin is anything special, to be completely honest. He played in a joke of a division, Big 12 North, and I don't think his speed will be as big for him going up against NFL corners. And congratulations on Vick... I was hoping Jerry Jones would finally realize how we won all those Super Bowls in the 90s, with convicts , and therefore would pick him up. Dang.

Top 10 Golfing No-Nos
TheJuice replied to Kingfisher's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I disagree... here is why... John Daly http://media.worldgolf.com/wg_blog_m.../dalybelly.jpg Lefty http://i.a.cnn.net/si/2007/writers/b..._mickelson.jpg Angel Jimenez http://images.sportinglife.com/07/11...nez_597679.jpg They sure look like athletes to me. -
Don't worry about it! If its helpful to others than no complaints from me!

With this specific club? I would say 110/111 max - like 20% of my hits. The numbers I saw the most of were 107/108 - like 70% of my hits. The other 10% were a little over 100. The percentages are just my guess, but I remember my max and what I saw the most of, so those are accurate. This info is from the Golf Galaxy machine, by the way. Although the stiff probably would have suited me right now, I think the Extra will be fine in the long run. I say this because I honestly just started playing again in June after a big 6-7 year break from the game. I am still trying to get my swing back from when I was a kid and took lessons for several years, went to camps, etc. I had a pretty good swing back then. I think I have been able to "get back in the groove" faster because of the good foundation I had as a kid. Eventually I would like to get an instructor to speed this along and to just help me in general. I think after I "get my swing back" and just get better overall I will see my swing speed increase a little more. I am also pretty young, 22, in pretty good shape, I'm a personal trainer, so I am pretty confident that as I continue to get stronger/get better at Golf the X will pay off.

I am more of a whiskey/bourbon person... Elijah Craig, Woodford, Knobb Creek are my three favorite I would have to say.

My friends and I had quit watching the game by that time. You can therefore call me ignorant (which is true) or it can prove my point about how boring the rest of the game was. I'm sorry, I just do not like Pittsburgh for some reason. Feel free to let me know what you think about the Cowboys... then again, that will probably take you awhile to write out everything that is messed up with us... Our two positive things right now: Best stadium ever built and three very good running backs. Our Negatives: Very Stupid Coach, Very Stupid Owner, Stupid QB, Stupid Defense, Old Linemen, Stupid Receivers...

http://cdn-write.demandstudios.com/u...80/4/21984.jpg Since you have injured your shoulder, use these in the meantime, trust me. Even without an injured shoulder and spending a decent amount of time with weights, if you know how to utilize Resistance/Elastic Bands you will see better gains. To continue working out your shoulder stand in the middle and do a "standing military press" if you get what I am saying. Go slow, you will definitely feel it. You can work out a lot of muscle groups with these things. I like using them right before I go to bed/when I wake up. Best of all, they are cheap!

The best putter in the world, without a doubt, hands down, no questions asked is... Whatever putter you feel comfortable with. For me, after hitting every putter I could find, I settled on the Red X5. Got a great deal on it too!

I would rather have the fastest part of my golf swing be instantaneously before impact... why would you want it to be faster AFTER the ball has already been struck? Sure this is a matter of milliseconds, but it is more logical. In all honesty, you can't break this down to conserving momentum/kinetic energy. Sure you can make inferences, ie velocity is the most important factor, but you are also forgetting about torque (lever arm and the angle associated with it), wind resistance, friction, and a seemingly endless list of Physics vocabulary words that all factor into the distance/trajectory of the ball.
-
I don't know if its from your swing necessarily or simply from hitting so many balls. I would guess the latter b/c my father and I almost always end up with blisters after a long range session, but then again we also have millions of flaws in our swings. Just carry around some athletic tape so you fix yourself up and keep hitting.

ESPN actually ranked the best football teams of all time... Cowboys were number one, Packers were number two, Steelers were number three. Sorry man, we are America's Team after all... You may have more Super Bowls, but those two Super Bowls you won most recently were honestly the most boring championship games I have ever seen.
-
Yes, but you get your QB from that state the breeds good football players like no other.

Things you wish you would have known when you started
TheJuice replied to TMO's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
One that is simple and not very important/useful... "It is better to miss long in putting than short, at least that way you have a chance of it going in." Although this is not an extremely important one and might not always apply based on the set up, it always sticks in my head from my first instructor I had when I was 10. I usually use it to make sure I have a solid stroke instead of a sissy one that is on line but falls a foot short always making me regret not hitting it a touch harder, and thinking "If only..." -
There is hope to becoming a 300 yard hitter
TheJuice replied to DiverDown's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
You hit it on the head. 300 isn't that hard when you are young, in good shape, and have spent the last few years in the gym. Now, start talking about control and not slicing, and I will quickly change the conversation, if you know what I mean...
