Looking at PGA tour homepage and proximity to hole stats im guessing that it does not account for GIR or not. Because the figure seemed quite high. Does anyone know or can find the avg of proximity to hole when GIR for the pros?

My favorite drill is for sure Drawback. I play 18 holes. Different holes every time. Mix evenly between 3,6 and 9 meters. If you miss the putt you have to draw the ball back 1 putter length and putt again until you make it. Compete against your previous scores. I like this drill because it trains not only green reading but the biggest benefit i see is good practice on testing 3-4 footers. You wont make many 6-9 meter putts but you can also gain some confidence in this area as well. I like aimpoint as well. The biggest benefit for me was that it allowed me to become more confident in my read and it of course transferred in to my stroke. I think for higher handicappers finding a way to gain confidence in 3-6 foot putts is extremely important. Less technical and more mental approach to making putts!

Should Divots Be Considered Ground Under Repair?
klund replied to Foursum Golf's topic in Rules of Golf
To make it clear im not for this change. What i would like more courses to do and which i have seen done in tournaments is to mark obvious collection points as GUR on day 3 or 4 in tournaments or when needed on club level when there is a lot of divot holes in one area. -
I live in Malaysia and it is always hot and humid here! Lately a few degrees hotter. I play with pants sometimes and a lot if times if they are in a light color it is cooler than sun directly on the skin. Might go and watch some of the play but the course is quite boring overall. The sponsors own the facility and of course wants it to be played there.

Should Divots Be Considered Ground Under Repair?

It is mentioned in 25-2. But wouldn't mind they removing that and grant relief for embedded balls through the green! Although off topic. -
Rule Prohibiting Caddies/Partners from Lining up Players
klund replied to iacas's topic in Rules of Golf
No i did not miss that part. I don´t have any experience in that which is why i did not want to discuss it. So i will take your word for it that almost everyone does it there and that it is a huge issue which need a change of the Rules of Golf because i think you agree that its not a global golf issue as we have 2 scenarios where this is a issue. Kids tournaments with strange over ambitious parents and top level tournament players. A easier solution would be to ban the caddies for those tournaments where this is a real issue. My solution for slow play in the pro ranges is still the same. -
Rule Prohibiting Caddies/Partners from Lining up Players
klund replied to iacas's topic in Rules of Golf
How often have you seen this happen with partners? The rule would be pointed at what 0.1% of the golfers if that. You could mention the anchoring rule but i think that would be a higher %. But that discussion is different as that has to do with the stroke not information. For me it would not affect me but if the main reason is pace of play and this is regarding the pro ranks i don't believe this is the reason for their ridiculous round times! Penalty's and more penalty's for slow play is the way to solve that. -
Rule Prohibiting Caddies/Partners from Lining up Players
klund replied to iacas's topic in Rules of Golf
I guess this rule would only be applicable to your example of kids with parent caddies and high level tournament players. How many % of the golfers in the world is this? In most of the other threads i read the consensus is usually the rules are good as they are. I voted no. -
Surprise me! I took to Aimpoint classes but no information regarding this.

i replaced the ball and dug it out to make "birdie" on a par 5 but penalized myself one moving my ball at rest and lost the match! this was on the last hole! as i also thought i was SOL after i saw there was no local rule! This should be a new rule! im guessing all tours major and minor have this as a standard rule!
-
Looking for a answer regarding lifting the ball to see if its plugged. There was no local rule for free releif but i was interested to see if it was plugged to decide my shot. I said i wanted to identify my ball. Was i within the rules even if my ball could be identified without lifting it? A decision or rule reference would be helpful?

You would need to google around a bit to see what new updates might cause the same issues, and also turn off the automatic updates for Windows. I think as you that this is one of the better software's but the best part is that the database is on your computer. Think if iacas old software where an online application. all data would be lost!
-
Quite a few different programs got problems with these updates and got the same error so tired and these three are the ones that made the difference.

google is your friend! http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/remove-update#1TC=windows-7

Maybe im seeing it wrong but it seems you have huge shoulder turn even with your irons maybe dial back the shoulder turn a touch with the irons to get more consistent? Accuracy before distance with irons in my mind! EDIT, looks like i missed to read your last post!!

73 (CR72.5/134) in competition 69 (CR72,3/139) casual round My best ever round is a 70 (par 72) where i caught some unbelievable bad breaks on 14,15 and a silly 3putt on 16 to make 3 bogeys and finish par par on 17 and 18
-
I usually have some kind of technical thought but i try to make sure i don't change it during the round. If i decided i need to focus on something it should not change because i hit a couple of bad shots. But my best scores come where i "let" it happen. No technical thoughts or forced focus!

I found the solution. Some windows updates are conflicting. I removed the 3 below and got the app to work. KB3068708 KB3045999 KB3022345

I have a similar problem with Windows 7 after some windows update it stopped working and get this message "The application was unable to load a required virtual machine component" Anyone else with similar issue and maybe a solution?

Some progress made with shallowing my swing. Any thoughts?

Thought about my clubs during my practice session yesterday and been reading a little bit today. As you can see in my videos i have trouble opening my hips. Not physically but mentally. Im playing really flat clubs (2.5d) flat PING. When i do really slow swing and get in the right position the heel of the club is well in the air. Could this be my head not allowing me to do this when doing full speed swings?

Since the last post i have joined evolvr and getting some nice results through the service and obviously working on the parts i get from there but also interested what all the knowledge from here can bring as well. The problem i found first when working more with my swing was that i lost focus on the game/target which i think i really focused for last weekends game and payed really well with solid ball striking.
-
I have signed up to evolvr and making some good progress on the range just as you and also hitting some really solid shots on the course as well but I have caught myself almost every round since then focusing too much and mechanics/swing thoughts and not on playing golf/getting the ball in the hole. Maybe something to think about(or not think about) when on the course? I think Rotella writes it in one of his books "If one of my students must have a swing tought i will not stop him but i will let him have only 1 per round".
-
i prefer to not open it as much to hopefully have a bit less bounce and hit a standard bunker shot. usually get a bit more bite from a wet compact bunker at least here in Asia.

long time since i posted in this thread. Filmed my swing at the range today and looking for you opinions. Since my last post i have dropped my hcp quite a bit and been playing some really good golf. From what i see there is still alot of the same issues as with my older vids. "lifting" my hands out hips almost closed at impact my head turns quite a bit. i hope you can live with that the videos are not flipped. something went wrong. will have them flipped right next time! fo dl
