  1. Got my 5th stab today. While I was at it I decided to get the latest flu shot, too. I should be invulnerable now...
  2. Why do I think "WALL-E" when I watch that video?
  3. I am saddened for your country's loss. I don't think being the Monarch for 70 years was all a sleigh ride and I probably have a different view of what constitutes "work" than some do. In any event, she seems to have served your country well in her role and I'm sure most of ya'all will miss her greatly.
  4. My pharmacist tells me they should have the next vaccine available in the next week or so. I'll be one of the first in line.
  5. Eeewwweeee! That's an image I didn't need in my brain!
  6. I was wondering why I was mentioned in a topic I haven’t posted in, but I think you have mistaken me for @DaveP043. I can’t believe you just insulted him like that 😉 Oh, good grief! My apologies to both @billchaoand @DaveP043! I must be swinging so hard it's depriving my brain of the blood it needs. I need more stack and less tilt. Shoot! 😬
  7. Along with what@billchaosuggested, I would say to continue to work on swing and ball contact for us guys with the "generous" handicaps. Two swings with poor contact on a par 5 plus an extra putt leaves you with an 8. Eliminating those two bad swings brings you down to a 6. The same principle applies to every hole. Also, try to stop the bad decisions. I play one 340 yard par 4 that has water extending into the fairway down near the approach to the green. If I hit a 180 yard drive (for me a decent one), I'm left with 160 to the green. My 5 hybrid can reach that but it often has a slight fade tail at the end of the ball flight. If I land in the fairway short of the green the fairway slope and side spin takes it down into the water. Take my penalty, chip onto the green, two putt and I've got a 6. Yesterday, after the drive, I hit a nice 7 iron that left me 40 yards short. I pitched onto the green and 2 putted for a 5.
  8. Have you spoken with a physician specializing in sports medicine? Probably the best bet.
  9. If it's an M2 TaylorMade driver it's a pretty simple thing to have an adapter tip and grip put on the shaft. Then switch them out and try it for yourself.

  12. I'm looking to sell my PXG 0211DC iron set. 6 iron through sand wedge as shown. Excellent condition with very minimal wear visible on face or sole. Mitsubishi Chemical 70G R flex with PXG midsize grips. Standard length, loft and lie. Happy to send more photos if needed. Great clubs - I just find I hit my Titleist API 718 clubs better. Asking $475 plus shipping from 98226.
  13. And, I would add, tee heights?
  14. This time of year, where possible and when it makes sense and greens are so firm, I prefer to aim for the front of the green allowing for the ball to bounce and roll back to the center of the green. If I'm short, it may roll onto the green. If it doesn't, it's a chip and a putt - hopefully. Aiming for the back of the green I'm more apt to bounce and roll off the back.
  15. Watching the Tour Championship today I was thinking it would be nice to see the clubhead speed. They do show the ball speed but I could relate better, I think, if they'd add clubhead speed as well. At least on drives and maybe second shot on par fours and par fives too.
  16. I will echo @billchaoand suggest you consult a nursery or knowledgeable garden center. I'm not sure Magnolia trees would respond well to the drought in Southern California.
  17. I would not suggest trying to knock the drone out of the sky. It might cause you more grief than it's worth. In any event, you are certainly within your rights to complain about it to the course management.
  18. I assume you are referring to Covid. If so, I find your alternate naming offensive on a couple of levels. Over 1,065,515 have died from Covid in the US alone. It is definitely NOT the FLU. The other part of your name is simply insulting to a region of people most of whom had nothing to do with Covid other than to suffer from it as we did. I play public courses. People have always left pitch marks on the green for various reasons and probably always will. I fix the ones I see easily, as do the folk I golf with, and we move on. While unraked bunkers are nice, at the level I play, it makes little difference to my game. I also rake when I'm done as much as possible. Again, I may miss a footprint now and then but not on purpose. I also dislike the music from carts. I'd much prefer to listen to the birds and wind in the trees and the conversation of my companions. But there are lots of things I can't control on the course and music from carts is one of them so I do my best not to let that interfere with my enjoyment of the day.
  19. I play 3 - 5 rounds a week. My wife encourages me to get out and go golfing. She says she thinks the exercise and socializing is good for me - but I think she just wants time alone with the football team. Poor sods... 😄
  20. I know exactly what you mean. It's like watching Bryson. He looks like a frozen stiff with his elbows locked seemingly rigid and you think he can't possibly get any distance. But then - damn!
  21. I think you need the "OhGoodGriefa" (patent pending) swing as shown on multiple youtube, metube and ourtube videos. It's pretty simple. First, face East. If it's cloudy you'll have to guess which way is East and if you guess wrong you'll know right away because your ball flight will be different. Then, align your trail foot with the San Andreas fault and point your lead foot at the north star. Make certain your knees are flexed exactly 3.56 millimeters (this is absolutely critical). Your waist should be parallel with the Canadian border and your shoulders won't be. Shoulders really don't matter in the OhGoodGriefa (patent pending) golf swing although it is good to have shoulders so that your arms don't go flying away during the swing. Then, swing your arms (yes, both of them) towards England (or Great Britain, if you're geographically challenged). If, after performing the few, simple, above instructions, you find your ball flight isn't perfect it might be because it's noon in Oslo. Sorry. Or, hie yourself back to your instructor and threaten him with "THE HAMMER" if he doesn't fix you. Then, fix a drink!
  22. I don’t think you can have an ad hominem attack against a profession, by definition.
  23. Sure. I can see it now. Augusta National could have a 54 hole event with teams and a shotgun start. They could hand out brown jackets to the winners...
  24. The movie "Grease" is still one of my favorite of all time greats.
  25. Yeah, no kidding! I'd love to see them try and get divots like that from some of the local clay goat tracks in the summer!
