  1. Jeez....how much does a 460cc wood clubhead weigh? Probably feels like swinging a boot on a stick. If you need a good wood driver, go to louisville golf. Or grab a macgregor or wilson wood.
  2. It's pretty damned funny from the outside looking in.
  3. I pulled one left of the green, it faded back a little & i lost it in the shadows on the green. 152yd par3. It ended up being my first ace.
  4. Many times. Some days it's just not there. & definitely not worth ingraining something seriously negative into your swing. On a regular basis i only hit what i feel i need to hit. The number of balls in the bucket is irrelevant.
  5. The Hallowe'en candy reference is beautiful.
  6. 1-practice your putting. somedays will be easier than others. everybody has those days. how you deal with them is defining. 2-don't break clubs. it's infantile. same as throwing clubs or slapping a putter(i've seen both). golf is supposed to be fun & relaxing. unless you're a pro playing for a living, you have no reason to get mad on the course.
  7. Titleist spin milled. Find your bounce & don`t look back.
  8. Graphite Design purple ice or red ice can be had for a song. So smooth.
  9. How do you hit your current hybrid? Why did you hate the burner? What kind of shot shape are you looking for out a 2/3h vs 5wd? You say the stiff isn't for you, do you need reg flex or something stiffer? Too many variables. A 19* hy will be more versatile generally as a fw wd is meant to skim the surface to get the ball up. Most hybrids respond to a sweep or a dig. Shorter shaft=better contact too. Only drawback is at that length i find a lot of hys like to turn over pretty hard if you're a little off. My two favorite hybrids so far both had no offset, one had an S300 shaft & the other an s flex NV. If they drew it was gentle, & i could even fade them some days. Up to you. Figure out how many times a round you actually need one or the other. Then try models out.
  10. Way more confident with my 3wd than any driver i've tried. Drivers tend to screw up my tempo pretty good. I realize that's user error, but that's how it is for now. It's not even straight up confidence as performance. My 3 is more accurate & in alot of cases longer than my driver shots. If i need high, low, fade or hook i can usually produce what i need. Usually just adjust tee height & ball placement. I've had a long relationship with my 3wd. About 5-6 years now. I'd rather hit driver than a hybrid, though. Those things are evil.
  11. Of course it makes it less interesting for the casual fan & for the tv networks. Whatever. Let the casual fan change channels to something else. I'm sure they can find a thrilling 13-9 football game somewhere.
  12. "What if" Phil could make well informed decisions on course?
  13. Do the vice captains play or not? Anyways, Europe here. Teamwise they just look stronger & more cohesive.
  14. Happy Gilmore "Just tap it in"
  15. Ha! Avg driver distance-200-215ish. I'm having some serious driver issues right now. Avg 3wd distance-220-225ish. Handicap(unofficially)-about 20.
  16. I don't think the spine is built for that kind of long term exertion(specialists can correct me if i'm wrong). I mean, how many guys carry their bags on the PGA tour? No point in torturing ourselves in the name of chest thumping ego. I carried for years, but started to realize my shoulder & neck would pretty much seize up & cause me misery. I'm using my old 2 wheeler right now. Going to wait for the demo sale or boxing day to pick up a sweet 3 wheeler & new 14 slot bag.

  18. Ebay, as long as you don't get gouged on shipping. Rockbottomgolf is solid. Gigagolf(or other conponent retailers) if you like the component route. Or mix it up. As a 20 handi i wouldn't be too worried about OEM throughout the bag. I got a set of irons & wedges via gigagolf for 153$. That would leave me 347 for woods & putter. I could buy brand new TMs for that much. Rockbottomgolf Adams Golf- Tight Lies Complete Set With Bag Graph/Steel 249.99 That's about the only complete set i'd ever consider from there. Hacker helper for half the budget. Cleveland Golf- HiBore XL Tour Driver 89.99 Nike Golf- Dymo Fairway Wood Graphite 69.99 Adams Golf- Idea A3 Hybrid 3-PW Irons Graph/Steel 199.99 Adams Golf- Idea A3 3-Wedge Set 89.99 Odyssey Golf- White Hot XG Marxman Mini Putter 59.99 & that's all brand new. Obiviously if you look around you can get better deals. Wedges, fw woods, hybrids & putters are all available super cheap on various forums.
  19. Best answer ever. Especially if it's a spa that serves wine & endless tapas.
  20. Ignore the little letter on the shaft. Use the one with the best combination of distance & accuracy.
  21. Tempting. But when i have a spare ten g"s this is what i'm after http://www.subzero.com/resources/trade/kdc-1.jpg Not exactly like this, warmer & more open. Less white. But definitely a really sweet wolf gas cook top.
  22. Shorten your driver. I've hit my longest drives ever with a driver in the 43.75-44" range. Straight is long.
  23. Yes, one. But she was married & so am i. To different people.
  24. Overall, off your list, Callaway. Hate Nike & TM irons so far. Suck too bad for titleist. Ping has a nice overall lineup too. Adams & Wilson Staff are real high on my list too.
  25. Our local football team was out for their tourney not so long ago. Watching these huge kids just trying to kill the little white ball was enlightening. I don't think anybody got a driver over about 6 feet in the air. Honestly, before i started playing the thought of golf was just ridiculous to me. I used to live across the street from our local par3 course. I played there once in my first 27yrs. A high school gym outing. I used my grandpas old clubs & everyone laughed at my wooden putter. But when i got engaged & my father in law & his brothers would take off every weekend to golf i figured i'd better give it a crack. Then i got hooked.
