  1. Yet again the Ryder Cup reveals just how over-rated and over-hyped Woods and Mickelson are weekly on the PGA Tour.
  2. He is very aggravating to watch play... very slow and takes forever to putt. I agree. Its hype. and with the Monkey / Beetles part too.
  3. Every Human has differing levels of ability...whether that be physical or mental abilities. Putting is no different. As I have always said, some people, even though semi-athletic and in decent physical shape couldn't break 80 if they played, were coached, and practiced everyday for 10 years. Can most folks improve? Sure, but we all have our physical limits.
  4. I agree, good point. Also, don't try and hit the ball with your hands. Also keep you upper body and head still.
  5. Yea. I agree. Why not blade a 4 iron or a 7 iron.
  6. Writing something controversial (or stupid) media folk famous. It's their job to make Joe Average talk about their articles... Seems to be working once again.
  7. ...as you can now see, differing opinion aren't allowed in here. You must be assimilated and join the Collective. (from Star Trek - The Borg)
  8. About 15 yrs ago, in our small rural hometown we had a guy build a Driving Range and Skeet Range side by side. Seriously.
  9. Does one play basketball on hardwood Gym floors with Florsheims on? Can you play Hockey in short and tennis shoes? Each game has its traditions and rules.
  10. congrats on the progress.
  11. congrats on the progress.
  12. hole increased by Icaras taking away my edit privliges.
  13. any of my occasional shanks!
  14. Hogan was The Man! today his swing would get critiqued... and not all in a good way.
  15. Carry 230, roll depends. Handicap 5.
  16. Doesn't surprise me... the civility of this once classy game is almost gone in America anyway. Thanks goodness for our Private Clubs. Say what? Let's face it... most people only care to associate with other folks of similar background and appearence. (much the reason for the political Tea Party). They can act like they aren't racist nor bias, but most are (especially in many parts of the USA). Place 2 or 4 groups of poor whites or minorities in low-riding pants or in camo on a mid to high-end golf course and see how long this rational last. I'm white. Don't get me wrong... I associate more and better with minorities than I do with whites, and often get into debates and arguements at work with my male white southern associates over topics like this. Racism and bigotry are not dead. Don't believe me, go view the Grill Room forum and review the 'Carrying Weapons (on the golf course)' thread from about 2 months back. So if dress doesn't matter are Keffiyeh, Ghutra and Turbin head wear OK, how about Thobe's and long flowing outwear from the Middle East?
  17. Haven't read the article yet. My guess would be Loren Roberts and then Crenshaw.
  18. in recent years.... Lucas Glover, or maybe Craig Stadler.
  19. Woods is no more exciting than Bubba Watson, Dustin Johnson, John Daly or many many other pro's. The excitement is gererated by the announcers who constantly told/tell us what to think. JB Holmes can go birdie, birdie, eagle, birdie, eagle and hit 340 yard shots in the process. The announcers don't build him up, nor is his every shot and every move shown! Building Holmes up would not have brought untold numbers of minorities into the sport or and as TV viewers. The media can create superstars. Thus we have lady GaGa... and Maria Sharapova and Anna Kourinkova.
  20. As I have been argued with numerious times in here.... many folks think it should be entertainment, not sport. I still totally disagree.
  21. Just marketing hype. Funny that once again the top finishers and winner of the PGA didn't have "a traditional swing" as taught by most so-called experts. WHAT ? So which has been around longer? Golf and Golf swings, or a named and marketed concept for these basic swing concepts?
  22. ...or those of us who eat this crap up daily, and discuss it to no end on forums!
  23. The bulk of Nicklaus's wins came during a 12 year period. Guess how long Woods current winning ways have now lasted? All things come to an end, I'm just not sure how, or if, some of his fans will accept this.
  24. so does anyone remember David Duval? Now its Eldricks turn. Winning ways do not last forever, and some fans simply need to recognize this FACT.
