Bridgestone Golf Ball Fitting?
LeviTee replied to juanrjackson's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
Penta TP H/S = 116.4 B/V = 158.7 L/A = 7.1 B/S = 3737 (BAD) S/S = +1323 (BAD) DIST = 255 2011 B330 Tour H/S = 118.5 B/V = 164.1 L/A = 5.8 B/S = 3413 S/S = +490 DIST = 270 IDEAL H/S = 116.4 B/V = 172.3 L/A = 10.4 B/S = 2239 S/S = +0 (DUH) DIST = 300 Bottom line is that when I strike the ball properly, I can drive the ball 300+ and it doesnt matter which ball I hit. The Tour B330 is great around the green but so is the Penta IMO. -

How can a pro shop be cheaper on everything?
LeviTee replied to Wet Doggg's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Retailers purchase product at a set wholesale price. Expected retail price is usually 50-52% higher than the wholesale price. That is their profit. They just undercut suggested retail price from the manufacturer to give the consumer a good deal. -
Bionic Gloves Are Terrible
LeviTee replied to robert5050's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
If you suffer from arthritis or other hand ailments, there is another glove on the market. Check out the LeviTee Golf Glove. http://thesandtrap.com/b/apparel/levitee_golf_glove_review -
I am pretty lucky to have 3 full 18 hole courses, a 9 hole executive and an 18 hole par 3 course just down the street from my house. The course we play at every week has a course rating of 71.5 and it has a slope rating of 116. I constantly am between 79-84 at that course. But the easiest one of the courses with fairways the width of football fields and that plays so easy, I shoot 87-90. 3 weeks ago I shoot an 80 at Los Robles in Thousand Oaks a slope rating of 125 and a 70.1 USGA rating. Woodley Lakes, 89. If you are from SoCal, you know what I am talking about. Anyone else struggle at one particular course and then shoot lights out at more difficult courses?

Anyone have a club in your bag that you never use?
LeviTee replied to PaulMVR's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I hit my 56° so well that I don't touch the 60° anymore. I have always left my 3 iron in the garage. Other than that, I use all my clubs in my bag. -

How to maintain gloves......
LeviTee replied to Gerald's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
Using proper care for your glove will make it last longer. +1 for not wadding it up and throwing it in your bag. Also, if you notice it wearing out more in one place on your glove, maybe check your grips. Worn out grips will create more friction on your gloves. Our gloves are 100% Cabretta Leather and my golf pro goes through 1 glove every 5 1/2 months. When I get him a new one we put the date on it. He hits up to 200 balls per day. -
I am using Driver, 2 Rescue (17*) and 5 Rescue (25*). This combo works well for me.

Well, if you plan on having your brother around, you will need something bigger than a studio which are well under 900 sq. ft. and no bedrooms. Where do you go to school or work? What kind of commute do you want? and what is your budget? It is true that homes/condos are at a good price right now, but only if you can qualify for loans. As for a down payment, expect to put down about 25%. Getting a loan now is the hardest part right now. Banks aren't just handing them out so much anymore. This is an investment and needs to be thought out. As for your monthly expenses you have your normal utilities. Cable, Water & Power, Gas, Trash, etc. A downtown condo and some condos in general will have monthly fees (association fees) some places will have lease land fees (melaruse). Some places you have to pay for parking too. Lets not forget our property taxes, which being in California isn't so bad at about 1% yearly. So, figure out where you want to live, your budget and the size of a place you need. Every building you look at will have different fees. Just do your homework and educate as much as possible. I have bought and sold 4 homes in my life and I am 35. If you are in LA, Sherman Oaks area is pretty good starter area. About 25 minutes to Downtown, the beaches.

The group I play with every week prefer to tee off around 7:45 am. I wear Nike Dri Fit pants. Love them. Since we walk, these pants are great when the weather is a bit chilly and great when it warms up during the day. I will wear shorts on occasion, but prefer pants now.

I walk and use my Sun Mountain SpeedCart V1 majority of the time. When I play a high slope course or I am playing at a Country Club or a Charity Tournament I will ride.

My golf pro I sponsor actually uses a set of Acer irons (not sure which model) and he tells me they are identical to a set of Callaways. He is a +0.9 handicap.
-
A few months ago I replaced my 3 and 5 wood with 17° and a 25° TM Rescue's. I hit the 2 Rescue (17°) between 225-245 yards and the 5 Rescue (25°) 200-215.

Stand bag with push cart?
LeviTee replied to eddiefebuary's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I use my stand bag with my push cart. It is OK. I need to adjust my bag at least twice a round. It is not too bad that I have to buy another bag just for the push cart. -
It should be Hitting vs. Striking the ball. You will need to swing, but you want to strike the ball. As for topping your irons, just keep your head down, don't over swing. Every round is a learning experience, enjoy it.

Anyways, I have been working with my golf pro who we sponsor and he keeps telling me what was wrong with my swing. We finally filmed it and watched it and saw what needed to change. I always knew what he was trying to explain to me, but watching it was the icing on the cake. My average drive before was around 240 with a bad fade (almost slice) and now hitting 290-310 with a controlled fade. Problem was I would take the club too far back on my back-swing, cock the club up and come down on the ball (slapping it). I have now shortened my back-swing and keep the club on a level plane, keeping my elbow in at my hip. I love this game again.
