I am not sure that I am qualified to answer your questions since those are things I do instinctively and don't like to consciously think about. I had a episode of the shanks last year with my wedges which are normally very reliable clubs for me, happened 4 times in one round. I spent a couple of hours on the range a few days later hitting nothing but wedges, for me the problem was I was getting too much weight on my toes on the downswing which caused me to move closer to the ball, my problem has been solved . . . good luck with yours.

What's your favorite golf channel instruction show?
Golfwolf replied to mikelegacy's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
I am a fan of Micheal Breed, I know that quite a few people hate that guy but his energy appeals to me. I do like Martin Halls show as well, love the "tools" he uses to emphasize his points. -
LPGA tour player you'd most like to play a round with .

Paula Creamer, Morgan Pressel or Brittany Lincicome -
I am a huge ManU fan and have been forever. I was born just outside Manchester and visited Old Trafford many times before moving to Canada. I would hope that they will prevail in that match but Barca is not an easy team to play against.

A few weeks ago I was searching for a new driver, I had no specific brand in mind and wanted to try a number of different options. I tested the following all on a simulator in no particular order, not the ideal way to demo clubs but outdoor testing facilities were not available, I did also take my current driver with me as a comparison: Callaway Diablo Octane Callaway Razr Hawk Titleist 910D2 and D3 TM R11 TM Burner SuperFast 2.0 Ping G15 and K15 Nike VR Pro and Machspeed Black Mizuno JPX 800 Cleveland XL270, SL290, TL310 I spent more than 2 hours on a weekday morning hitting these, the store was not busy otherwise I would have limited my time, the sales associate had no issues with me going through this long process, he was very helpful!! Some of these drivers just did not have the right feel for me, I eliminated a few of them quickly, and after much trial and error it came down to 2 from the list: VR Pro and the SL290. I hit many shots with both of these with the SL290 winning out. I thought the lighter could be an issue but the ball flight, distance and dispersion were more consistent with the Cleveland SL290. I have used the driver on the range with similar results, my ballflight is mid high (normal for me) with a very slight draw, distance is very good, hard to say if this driver is much longer than my previous driver but I am happy with the results to date.

Greater Toronto Area: This, so far, has got to be the wettest and coolest Spring I have experienced. It seems that there is a threat of rain daily with cooler temps than normal. I have yet to get out and play golf this year, seen a golf course since I work at one which is open but the conditions are quite wet. Hopefully things will improve after this week which is forecasted to see heavy rain up to Friday.

I am a Mike Weir fan but his game has disappeared, some of that could certainly be attributed to his nagging injuries. His stats are brutal as noted above, really I cannot foresee him ever returning to the form he had previously.

Last (Golf) Thing You Bought?
Golfwolf replied to JYB's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
Bought myself another putter, like I really needed another one!! TM Ghost 880 Tour otherwise known as a Maranello. -
It is certainly possible to have a putter cut down, the overall weight will be slightly different but that has not really been an issue for me. There are ways to add weight back if you feel you need to do that, the easiest would be to use lead tape. The grip, in most cases, could be removed, saved and reused . . . any competent golf shop should be able to do this for you.

Congrats on your victory!

Bridgestone E5 is a good choice, it is a 2 piece ball with a urethane cover so it will provide some spin on those shots to the green. It is priced in the $25 range for a dozen.

I will take a pic later today. -
I have not used any of those you listed but if you can try a Titleist 909H it is is worth a look. I have the 24 degree, it works well for me. I did own the Adams Super Black hybrid (19 degree) referenced above by "ratherBgolfing" and did not like it at all, the 909H was longer and more consistent IMO.

I have been using a Players towel, size is 22" X 40".

Using a Mizuno Twister, not the lightest stand bag by far but works well for me.

I have to go with Paula although she shares that name with my first wife.

Last (Golf) Thing You Bought?
Golfwolf replied to JYB's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I bought 3 dozen Bridgestones on Saturday, there was a 4 day sale here on all golf balls with the exception of ProV1 or V1x, buy 2 dozen get 1 dozen free, too hard to pass on that deal. -
who needs an R11 when you have a can of paint.
Golfwolf replied to Camo's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I think it looks good, I really don't mind the white color at all. I had a white driver a few years back, it was called White Lightning, cannot remember who made it (component manufacturer). It was different from the norm, I like different. -
He struggled on the back nine yesterday but has a lot of game, great distance and looks to be a solid putter. He managed to hang in there and got the win, nice job!!

Well since you have been using the same clubs for most of the time since 2004 you definitely do not fall into the category of club ho. If you want to make a switch then just do it, try a number of different clubs before making the change because it seems like you will likely be playing them for a number of years, just be comfortable with your decision and enjoy!
