That's not bad at all. The first round of golf I ever played I shot a 147. The most important thing is that you enjoyed it.

I only played 11 holes. The course was fairly crowded as it usually is on Sundays but that wasn't the problem. Everyone playing in front of me was not only absolutely dreadful, they took 25 minutes per hole and had just the worst etiquette. I skipped over this group only to encounter two more groups that were exactly the same. Ugh. I shot a 46 for 9 holes which is pretty darn good for me.

Sounds fun but if I'm playing this competitively with my friends I can see many problems arising when trying to figure out who is closest.

If you read this forum, watch the Golf Channel, watch some YouTube vidoes, film your swing and post it on this forum, you WILL improve. It might take some time but if you keep practicing/playing you will eventually see the results. I say this because to me it seems like you aren't enjoying the game unless you are seeing improvement in your game. That's natural. I'm a competitive person and am the same way. I still stink but enjoy the game even when I play like crap and shoot 110 because I know that one bad round does not mean I'm not improving.

You can get some really great advice by knowledgeable people on this site if you post videos of your swing.

I've stopped using tees on par 3's with my irons. I would normally tee it up just barely above ground level and I'd sky my tee shot and come up well short. I just hit it off the deck now with better results.

To make a potentially long story short, I bought a new driver to help increase my trajectory. I am not a long hitter. I recently got some solid advice and now my ball striking is 100x improved. I feel like I'm swinging more powerfully as well. Now a lot of my drives seem like they are getting too high costing me distance. Could this be a sign of a mismatched shaft to my swing? My driver is a TaylorMade R9 460 10.5* regular flex shaft. What's the best way to test this? Do golf stores allow you to walk in and hit their drivers on the SS/statistical machines free of charge?

160ish yards. I hit my 6 iron very well for my handicap.
