the bulk of the best players in the world are playing in the desert this weekend, and people still moan and whine that Tiger isnt playing at Pebble Beach? Didnt see all the moaning when Mickleson was out in the desert the other week when he didnt even play well, o and the 1 mill appearance fee what he got. and where are all the people from who are moaning about Tiger playing in the desert.... I personally cant wait for the tournie to start tomorrow morning at 6am on Sky in the uk, i think it will be a great weekend, and then 8pm tomorrow night for the Pro-am on the PGA tour is going to finish it off nicely.

Go Kart Electric Trolley
Chris G replied to mazza78's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
There are 2 members at my local club who have them, one in the green trim and another in orange I think or red. I have played along side them while using the Go Kart. They rage on about them all the time saying they are great, they fold down to nothing for ease of transportation in the boot, dont take much room up. The battery tray is hidding away in the frame, and they are durable and reliable and they dont look bad at all. I use a powakaddy and if I ever need to change it i would more than likely buy a Go Kart. I think they are great. -
I play with the burners, yes they are 1/2 inc longer, but they are great, i gained around 5 - 7 yards per club as they are a little longer. The distance I didnt need but I have found my clubs over lap a little now and I am very happy with them. They are durable they still look just as good now as they did when I purchased them a year ago, they are the 09 models, not the 2.0. They are forgiving and everything I need in a club. If I ever change tham the Mizuno's is something i would look at.

I replaced everything last year as I felt the same, did it make me a better golfer? hell no!! did it make me happy! hell yeah!!! I would try them before you buy anything and see if you can get some demos and play with them before hand though. Only thing I didnt replace was my r7 CGB Max Driver as I loved it, I nearly bought the Supertri for £329 but something told me not to, now they are at £175 at my local shop as the r11 is out soon, only thing is I really like the look of white drivers, so my dilemma is, the r9 supertri for £175 or the r11 for £300 ish. o well i will know soon enough. good luck with your decision.

If he has repeatedly done this it is not a lapse in concentration or a mistake, he knows what he is doing and to me its cheating.

I hit my 6 iron around 190 yards, and I hit around the mid 80's. I started hitting like this after having a few lessons off a Club pro who was recommended to me, and I upgraded my clubs. With all this I would love to hit in the 70's like yourself and I am hoping to work on it this year. I am 5'11 and I would say a little over weight. i had 2 things changed during my lesson's, My shoulder turn as I was very armsie as it was put to me turning more with my arms than with my shoulders and not "coiling" and also my weight distribution as I swung from right leg through to left. But again if you are scoring like you are and as said above how far you hit it isnt everything, you are doing great in my eyes :) I sometimes play with a lad who cracks a 6 iron around 200 yards, but when you watch him it is like he is playing baseball the way he trys to hit it and then it shoots along the floor for half of the distance. He thinks this is great and he doesnt realise his handcap will never fall below 18 as he thinks its all about how far you hit it. Good luck with whatever you try and I hope that score gets even better! :)

I can feel the differences but all I am saying is at my handicap there is not a lot of change to the way I play at this time, thats not an excuse :)

Should Viewers Be Able to Call in Rules Violations
Chris G replied to iacas's topic in Rules of Golf
NO, its the tournament organisers to make sure the rules are followed, not arm chair bandits, honestly they are worse then back seat drivers!!!! -
I have always used normal pleated trousers and have never really looked at the true golf range of trousers, how ever at Christmas my missus got me a couple of pairs of Adidas trousers, one is a thicker sort of material for colder weather while the other for the warmer weather. I have to admit I am very impressed and will now probably stick to buying trousers from the Golf manufacturers but I suppose time will only tell.

I was using the Srixon AD333 orange but they have this cheap plastic look to them so have just gone back to the normal ones. I may look at the e6's people have mentioned
-
I used the NXT's for a while before playing the AD333's and changed straight away, I do prefer the srixon's hands down but am partial to likeing the softness of the Pro V1's, I might try the Trispeeds or event splash out on some penta's to try the higher end ball but at my handicap I wouldnt even notice the dif! :)

He is a great player and fully deserves the #1 spot, he will not have it long as i would not be surprised if Kaymer takes it off him especially the way he is playing this weekend at the Abu Dhabi, but there is a lot of harshness against Westwood on here, yes he is a bland player but he is also very very good. He isnt the most exciting to watch but he goes out and gets the job done. There was a post a bit back about him stating he is staying in Europe this year and not going to play on the PGA tour. A lot of people took offence to this on here and gave out a lot of stick about this, come on he is English and wants to stay i europe with his family you cant blame him for this. Give him a break

2 times in as many weeks people are calling or emailing in and getting players DQ. Fair enough Harry made a mistake and said in the interview afterwards he thought it had returned to the exact spot as the way he lines his ball up had not changed on the line. In normal motion you could not tell it was onlywhen played in slow motion you could tell the ball never returned. Its a shame, for someone to pick up on this as it happens must of sat there for ages checking on slow mo and rewind, I can imagine it now some old person sat there with the family with nothing better to do but try and make themselves look important in front of everyone in the household once again. Must of taken ages to boot the laptop/PC up and get started. Fair enough Harry f**cked up but the Officials have said the amount of phone ins / Emails / Twitter replies they get now is getting out of control of people ringing up trying to have there say on what happened or what they saw and has been missed. No regard to what its costing a player or their familes or other people around them. I salute you all, just because you are shite on the course doesnt giveyou a right to spoil it for others.

What do you prefer, a blade, mallet or other style of putter?
Chris G replied to Radford Wooly's topic in Golf Talk
i have always preferred blades, but at the moment i am using the Yes Marylin. it is more of a "smaller" version of a mallet and I seem to have settle with it quite well. Although i do love the look of the Del Mar's :) -
Great post and loads of help and good information. This is something I am looking into more this season. Cheers All

I changed from Vokeys to Nike VR's a couple of months ago, I find them a great wedge and versatile for how I play, i use a 52 and a 56. Although I do find the VR's tend to chafe the ball alot.

rangefinder till around 60 then in from that I feel.

he is a great player, and has one hell of a future in front if him I hope he does well, watched him a few times this year and is such a great player at such a young age

another pic I wish I had never seen...

As Golfro say's go get fitted, I was going to replace my driver a few months back, its a taylormade r7 CGB Max, instead I had it fitted. Best £50 i have ever spent. Only reason I may change it now is its rather dated but at the same time while its working it isnt going anywhere :)

Lee Westwood chooses NOT to be PGA Tour member in 2011
Chris G replied to Frank-0-Sport's topic in Tour Talk
Well this topic has gone off thread and back more times than Tiger has had mistress's. I can understand people saying that he is boring, when you watch Tiger and Phil etc they make some of the best shots people ever see taking such big risks and making it all look so easy. Westwood plays steady very rarely taking risks and trying to take those massive risk taking shots like the others. This does make him rather boring to watch although I am a big fan of his and hope he has a great year in 2011. (patriotic I guess) On interviews he does answer the questions and is more open. I love watch golf and its on from Thursday to Sunday in my house, my daughter plays as well so i guess im lucky I can get away with it been on all the time. I love to watch Tiger and Phil as they make the game exciting playing some great unbelievable shots which is why we all watch it I suppose, but at the same time its nice to keep some of the better players on the Euro tour
