Kill slow play. Allow walking. Reduce ineffective golf instruction. Use environmentally friendly course maintenance.

My favorite is when the guy cutting the greens springs a hydraulic fluid leak, and it will just kill the grass. You will see small 1/2" lines all along the green.

I've seen footprints across greens due to frost damage. They might open the course based on a couple of greens being okay, but some of the lower lying ones might still be a bit "crisp". come early Spring, it looks like Bigfoot played a few rounds.
