What state are you in? Here in New Jersey Golf is a spring sport where football is in the fall. I just assumed it was the same way across the country.

If you like football better then go for it... I don't mean this as an insult because I don't know you from Adam, it's purely mathematical, but chances are you won't play college football. If that is the case, then pick golf back up when you are done with football. If you do play college football, then chances are you won't play professional football, so pick golf up after college.

There is a small window of time in your life where you can play organized football and that window is now. You can play competitive golf for years and years and years. If you enjoy football then do it now because you won't have that opportunity in 5-10 years. The same cannot be said for golf.

Same here but some states have it in the fall.

Here in Alabama the only conflict with football is Spring Training. Some coaches are willing to cooperate with scheduling and some not so much. When my son was playing baseball there were many days he had to practice football in the afternoon and play a baseball game that night. Not the best thing to do if you are going to pitch nine innings.

The basketball coach was even more demanding and scheduled so many mandatory things during other seasons that it was almost impossible to play basketball and any other sport.

I think they should try their best to work it out where a kid can play multiple sports if they want to.

I have never seen it any other way, but like @MS256 mentioned there are some pretty serious coaches that want the kids to train all year at one sport. Maybe if you're a star quarterback.
