Anyone playing them? If you haven't seen them yet, they are red and black. I just put one on my Sonartec 3-wood and I love it. I had a Winn AVS and it SUCKED. I am about to put the Decade on all of my irons (except the wedges) and I highly recommend them.

I just regripped my entire set - woods to wedges. Friggin $8.99 apiece, plus $30 for 15 clubs (some backup clubs were regripped, too)! $175!!!! Jeepers!

Golfsmith doesn't have those grips. I am going to set up a regripping station in my basement, though. Should be fun.

This is an old forum but just added the Golf Pride multi-compound mids to a few of my clubs and really liked the feel. I was gaming Lamkin Crosslines. The Golf Pride's do seem a bit smaller on the mid size than the Lamkins. Either way good grips will pony up the extra cash to have the rest of my clubs done. Glad I only went with 5 clubs to start, at least I got to test them out for a round. Anyone else game these grips and if so how do they hold up?

I always liked the Tour Velvets but was tired of having to regrip the clubs twice a year. Put the black and blue Decades on the irons and wedges (white and black on the Fubuki looks sweet!) and I love them. They are expensive but they should last twice as long as normal grips. Feels good having cords again, took a few swings to get used to a little extra weight. The mid-size grips weigh a ton!!

Using these currently. They're great grips if you have the hands for them, but they've given me some gnarly calluses. I think I'm going back to TV full cords.

I had my 58 degree wedge and pw set up with these to give them a go. Really enjoyed the feel of them. I also had 7i and 5i as well as 4 hybrid to get a feel with full swing clubs. I am swinging my driver to well and will not be adding a new grip to it but my 6,8,9 52 and 56 will be getting the upgrade. I hope they are durable the grips are a bit pricey. Thanks for the replies sorry for the old post didn't want to start a new one.

Played the Paragon Multi Compound Grip... 3rd of the cost and last... a year ago i started using Paragon Tour Vibe... firmer then a Winn grip but damn good.and last longer... The humidity here in Tampa doesnt bother the grips.

  • 2 weeks later...

Went with the full set up of these grips. Played a few rounds and am really liking them. They also look real sharp except on my driver. Recently went with a used TM Burner and added the Aldila NV(green shaft). Mix that with the black/red grips kind of a funky looking club. Anyone else face really liking a certain grip but driver head and or shaft is just weird looking together?

They make the new decade in at least half a dozen colors.

I have the green NV shaft in my hybrid, that club got the white/black new decade grip.

In the Bag: TaylorMade R11 TP - TaylorMade R7 TP TS - Cleveland Halo - TM TP 2009 3-PW - Vokey SM 52 - Vokey SM 60 - Rife Barbados CS - ProV1x

I use a mid-size grip. Correct me if I am wrong but they only make the red/black, white/black and blue/black in mid-size.  Besides I already had the red/black on all my irons already. Yes I know some use the different colors on different clubs but I like all the same grips and colors. weird maybe but it is what it is. Does the white/black look okay with the green NV?

    • My two cents? Don't. As a beginner that's interested in learning about the golf swing, you'll find yourself consuming a lot of information, most of which isn't even relevant to your own swing. You need to learn you can't think your way to a good golf swing. Focus on the one thing that you're working on and doing that on every swing, come what may. And remember, mishits happen.
    • Day 6 (7 May 24) - More work in the backyard focused on tempo in addition to setup.  Worked with 6 and 7 irons hitting hard foam balls - used the old MacGregor irons to mix it up a little.
    • No! lol. But they have to be in the right sequence to play mid-handicap golf or little better. Mostly. And even in that there is range/margin for error in the motions and positions that most normal humans can handle. It helps if you have a decent idea of how a golf club moves around the body like you would any other equipment sports (baseball and hockey might be the closest) After all, fairways are 40 yards wide. Don't overthink it. Be diligent in getting basics right. I will concede that it is harder than it sounds but it certainly is not exact angle/exact position/exact degree of bend/exact speed/exact facial expression, etc, every.... single.... time or the result is horrible death.
    • Looking to play in the Severna Park Golf league and it got rained out the first three weeks. I know the course is being renovated so it is not in great shape but the location is easy for me and I would love to meet some other golfers in my area. Anyone here in Maryland Annapolis area?
    • I like to look at the positives.  Overall you are fairly consistent down the center with most shots 20 yards or less off center.  On most fairways that should be in play.  Sure, you had some very short duds, but also if you look there is a good cluster in the 110-125 yard range.  Sure, we would all like to be longer, but knowing your typical shot is more important than trying to hit the 7-Iron 175 Yards.  Just take more club for longer shots and do not worry about it.  Your distances may increase as you improve over time so do not get caught up on that now.
