If you just had a bad hole how would you get your mind set back to better thoughts instead of "How am I going to make up those stokes". Instead of keeping bad thoughts in your head and blowing up your round.

On my handicap, after a blow-up hole, I just say "so, that's where the blow-up hole is today. I'm glad I got it over with." Helps me believe that the next hole will be good.

I do something similar to Tiger's rule. I can take about ten steps, then I'm over that and on to the next shot.

yup... I pulled two in a row OB and posted a 10... almost broke down on the tee

anyways, it happens and its how you get through the rest of the round that matters

After a bad hole and I'm upset about it I just take a breath and on the next tee shot I tell myself to slow down on my swing. I take a mind set to have a good tempo in my swing. Because I think after a bad hole there is a tendency to take the anger out on the ball thus causing a swing that is quick than my normal swing.

This is something I've been working on. I just try and see each and every shot individually. My thoughts on each shot are "You have this shot" and "You've made this shot before". This method worked very well for me 2 rounds ago, I scored a personal best 75 - 4 over. Last week, it worked pretty well, but I let a 4-putt get to me on the next tee, so I'm a work in progress.
I've spent most of my life golfing - the rest I've just wasted.

I just started trying to enjoy every shot. Sounds pollyanna-ish, but I find it's working.

Last round shanked an 80 yd sand wedge, then shanked the recovery pitch into the greenside bunker. Usually terrible at bunkers but getting better. I reminded myself that this was an opportunity to practice and to just put a good swing on it. Almost holed it for par, gratefully took the bogey.

I like the idea of "ONE". That's catchy

I try to take something positive from a blow-up hole. Sometimes, it's not much, maybe a 4 footer for double or something. But if you can manage to find something positive, anything, it will help you maintain your focus. Even if it comes down to something as easy as, "Man, I really had good balance on that swing (even though I hit a dead-ass shank)". Just keep a positive mindset.

Positive thoughts bring forth positive results.
