Gift for Non-Golfing Wives?

Need some quick help here folks. Two buddies and me are headed, with our wives, to do a Pebble/Napa trip very soon . Our first night, we're having dinner at the resort and we'd like to present our wives with a gift. All three of our wives are definitely non-golfers with no interest in ever trying (which I don't mind one bit). But we're struggling with what to give them. We'd like it to be somewhat related to the trip, but not too golf-related. Pebble has some just okay gifts on their website, but with access to this audience, I thought I'd lob this question your way hoping that some of you have some good ideas or maybe have even gone through this before and have some advice.

Sooner the better and thanks in advance for the help! Yes, we have procrastinated.

I went on a golfing trip, last year, to Scottsdale. What my brother and I did was the following:

No golf on weekends. (Not sure what days you're going. However, if it's during the week, I'd suggest it)
All golf tee times were at 830. This gave the rest of the day to them.

We sent our wives on Saturday and Sunday to spas. They got the full treatment; massages, manicures, pedicures, facials. We also called ahead and paid for their lunch, champagne, included.

Just my 2 cents. Hope you have a great time.

When ever I do a resort and golf the wife does a Spa thing, cost more then my golfing! ;)

Thanks for the quick replies here.

Yeah, the spa thing. The ladies are going to play the spa by ear (in spite of my strong suggestion that they actually use one of the best spas in the country since their husbands will be spending a lot of money at one of the best golf resorts in the country). But they elected not to set anything up in advance and may go for a pedicure/manicure, may do the full body, may not do anything. So I don't want to drop several hundred for something that may not want to even do.

Would like to have something gift-wrapped in advance that we can hand them to commemorate the trip or something special enough that will always remind them of when they got it.

Maybe a nice diamond or pearl ring they can show off and tell everyone they got it when they went to pebble beach..

Is that area known for any particular type of jewelry? If so, find out from the resort and have them make the purchase for you. It sounds like you're staying at a great place. The concierge should be able to take care of this for you and have it ready at check-in.

I took the Mrs on a golf trip, treated her to a new towel from the pro shop.She said she would never come with me again as the bag was too heavy.I even let her rake the bunkers after my shot.No pleasing some people looks like I will be going with chaps next time.

Yeah baby!!! I love it when my kid and hubby go on golf trips. I'm always sent to the spa.

It's hard to fail with a nice handbag (Coach, Kate Spade, Dooney & Bourke, etc), a day at the spa (mani/pedi/mud/whateverthehellwomenlike) or jewelry (diamonds are a girl's best friend).

You could always send them shopping. A nice card (remind them you love them and appreciate them) stuffed with a few $100 Amex gift cards is always a hit.

Seriously, jewerly will always be more than welcomed, doesn't really matter the price. You can go for something simple or climb up to a D-rock, and you'll always be thanked.

By the way, get your tee-times a little later the first day; after a diamond nights tend to extend quite a bit lol

Thanks for all the advice. I think my favorite was the "towel" comment and letting her rake the bunkers. But alas, Jewelry it is. The Pebble "special services" department was freaking incredible in helping me set this up. Buying the jewelry locally, FedEx'ing overnight to this one particularly awesome lady at Pebble who helped me out (Nicole), she's boxing the jewelry and putting it in a really cool Pebble Beach, vintage-style tote bag along with a Pebble visor. We'll be able to present the gifts our last night there at dinner. Perfect.

A little off topic but not really. I hated the day that my girlfriend wanted to take up golf. I honestly thought she did it to ruin my fun. Now, I get to golf probably twice as often and half the time its her idea. As a bonus... she now schedules us a golf trip once a year. Before she started, I would have never been able to play some of the courses we have gone to... and sometimes she pays.

Why is she still only at the 'girlfriend' level. Before you know it she'll be wanting a new set of expensive irons vs a diamond, and she'll be looking for someone with a lower handicap. I think if I were you, I'd get her committed for life with the promise of raking the bunkers for her. Maybe you should get down on one knee on the 18th green with all her friends in attendance. If you are half the man she wants you to be you should practice this ala Camillo Villegas doing the spiderman thingy. LOL you lucky stiff.

EXACTLY! keep them away from the course.

It's cool playing with your wife/gf I guess. I play mini-golf with mine and that's cool. We go to the range...and that's cool....she's strong enough to carry a bag in the heat and doesn't complain..that's cool...but when we fight, i like to get out and play by myself to calm down and get my mind off of it. once those memories start to intertwine..i don't know.... she does want to take me out on the course..she said she won't play and just wants to watch me b/c she sees the enjoyment it brings me when i come home after a good round... but definitely give her the spa treatment. 1 it makes her feel sexy 2 it makes her feel appreciated 3 you're gonna get it good that night. hahaha.

Spa is definitely a good way to go. Passes time, and they are able to do it guilt free as the guys are spending time golfing.

      I’m not sure I agree. It’s just what the majority find more entertaining. Most people prefer women’s gymnastics over men in the Olympics. How much hype is there with the men’s compared to the women’s? I bet you can rattle off several big names in women’s gymnastics and only a handful of men. Women’s tennis …same thing. And sure enough, their purses are the same. However, WNBA, awful…LPGA, not near as much interest than PGA. Don’t think it’s really that complicated IMO.

      If you walk up to a food/drink kiosk at Magic Kingdom and ask the person for a cup of "magic water" they will give you a small cup of Sprite for free. About 3 fingers worth. They don't sell alcohol at MK anymore so I go over to one of the courses while she hangs out there.
