Okay to leave clubs in car?????

I've been in the habit lately of leaving my golf bag and push cart in the backseat.


Do you think the heat that builds up inside a parked car is enough to damage my clubs....thinking mainly about the epoxy joining the shafts and heads.????

I don't think you have too much to worry about - what's the hottest that the interior of a car will get, in, say, Arizona in the summer... 130 degrees? I don't think that's enough to weaken the head/shaft bond, but what do I know?

Maybe you could get in touch with the manufacturers of your clubs and find out if they recommend against it or if it's something that's even on their radar as a concern.

I have heard that it speeds up the wear of grips to leave them in a hot car, but I haven't heard about the epoxy.

Your clubs will treat you nicer if you treat them nice. How would you like it if you were cooped up in a dirty trunk all the time next to motor oil, coolant and beach towels? You wouldn't like it too much. My clubs are in the same room with me.

This made me laugh because the only things in my trunk right now are coolant, oil, and my clubs.

why? because they're easy picking for robbers! When i'm finished, they go in the boot (have to take woods and umbrella out and put in seperatly - small boot) When I get home, they are locked up till next use. Been several break in's lately in my home club.

hehe I know this is off the topic - in our climate leaving clubs in the car is fine

My clubs spend most of the summer in the trunk. You never know when a golf game might break out and I wouldn't want to be caught unprepared.

I googled this and found out:

My clubs, like my dog, live inside with me.

When I was a kid, we were taught to wipe 'em down after every round and put them inside to prevent humidity from rusting the inside of the shafts.

I really prefer keeping them inside because my golf balls are in the bag.
Those guys who say the ball doesn't go anywhere because it's cold outside are dead wrong.
The ball doesn't go any place because you left them in the car overnight and you're teeing off with a ball that might be near freezing.

Me too, except I have a crew cab truck, so they spend time on the backseat. Ive become fond of the rattling of my clubs on the freeway. The problem is when it heats up my golf shoes get pretty stinky.

My clubs get their resting time in my truck. They ride shotgun next to me everyday to work. When I get off at 12, then we go play 18-36 holes. Afterwards, they get a quick washing and they're back to the truck.

I've never had any problem related to it. I doubt you have anything to worry about, except the robbers.

yeah my clubs usually stay in the trunk... Unless I need to bring em in to clean em... I feel safer with them in the trunk than in the garage.

Mine live in the car year round. I don't care if it's not good for them. If I have 15 minutes to kill on my way somewhere I'll find a course on the way and go putt or chip. Unless I know I won't be using them for a couple of days I want to have them just in case. I go to the course for some kind of practice 5-6 days a week anyway.

My clubs stay in the back of my jeep or in the Thule luggage carrier on top. I guess if i had nice clubs I would worry more about the heat affecting them but since my whole bag is only worth about $150 I don't really care.
