Yeah, I'm thinking about switching back from the Pro V1, I personally think they are great, and perform better then the Pro V IMHO.

Here's what I play:

I've used them both on occasion. The URC is more like the V1 while the URS is more like the V1x. You need a fast clubhead to get the best out of both the V1x and the URS.

I like the feel of the V1x and URS off the putter better than the V1 and URC (they're a bit firmer) but my game suits the V1 and URC better as I can't really claim to have a Tour speed swing .

Have anyone tried the new Bridgestone B330 RX yet?? Supposed to be aimed at more 'typical' amateur speed swings but I haven't seen it to try yet over here.

Not sure that's entirely accurate. According to Srixon, the URS has a lower compression and so wouldn't need as high of a swing speed to get the most of it distance-wise. The URS is a bit softer feeling. Actually the Srixon balls are somewhat of an anomaly as the URS has a lower compression core, softer feel, while having lower spin compared to the URC. Both of the Srixon balls are good. From talking with other players the ones that like the V1 tend towards the URS and the ones that play the V1x seem to prefer the URC. The URS works better for me all around, but I love both balls and would play either one.

I'm also interested in trying the B330-RX but it's getting to the last couple weeks of the semester so I'm out of a commission for a while.

I've played the URC's. I was short on balls and the course I was at had them on sale for $30. They seem to have the same characteristics as the ProV1x. Honestly, I'm not sure that I strik the ball well enough to tell the difference between good balls though, but I liked them and haven't gone through that box yet so I'm happy.

I have tried the B330-RX, and IMHO it is great for average swing speeds (like me) because I picked up about 15 yards over the Pro V1x, but the spin just wasn't there. I first played the RX in Oregon, and there I was spinning back V1x's if I wanted to, but I could not for the life of me spin the RX back. For the money I would say go for any other tour ball, heck even the B330-S, that's a great ball IMO.

Here's what I play:

Doh! Sorry. Somehow or other I got my balls mixed up (if you know what I mean!). I

meant the URS is more or less the equivalent of the V1 and the URC ~= V1x.

Not a fan of the urc, thought they had a very odd muted feel off the driver and irons, but thats just me.

Definetly a fan of the urs thouh.

Regarding the RX, i gotta disagree with 907, i found that they had ample spin, more so than i like actually, as my go to 5 yard draw turned into a slightly larger 15 yard draw with what i felt was a good swing.

I have played both those balls. I love the z-urc, but I learned they play 1/2 club short. Ex: I hit a stock 7 165 - 170 with the prov1-x. With the z-urc, that changes to 160-165. I don't mind it, but I do have to pay attention to what I'm doing on the course. I shot my all time low with the z-urc. Good ball

My swing thoughts:

- Negative thinking hurts more than negative swinging.
- I let my swing balance me.
- Full extension back and through to the target. - I swing under not around my body. - My club must not twist in my swing. - Keep a soft left knee

The B330-RX doesn't spin enough for me. I top out at 104 mph with my driver, which puts me somewhere in the high 80's with my irons, I guess, so I should be a good candidate for a lower compression ball. But the spin's just not there on chips & pitches. I will say that on full shots the -RX spins well enough.

    • Day 12: Same as last couple days, but focus was on recentering aspect of flow. When I recenter earlier I make decent contact most swings but if I recenter late or not at all it’s a roll of the dice.
    • A couple of things.  Some of the clubs in your bag should be dropped immediately.  A 2-iron for example with what obviously seems to be a lower swing speed or possibly not great swing yet is a definite no-no.  To be hitting that 120-140 yards, which I assume includes run, is a sign that you are not getting the ball airborne at the correct angle to maximise distance.  The reason your 3 and 5 hybrid are going the same distance is that your launch angle is better with the 5.  Loft is your friend. Ideally I would suggest going to a golf or sporting store where you can hit golf balls on a simulator without being disturbed to understand your club carry distances and hopefully swing speed.  With that information we can definitely guide you better.
    • Let us be clear, unless you have proof of cheating, you just sound like a case of sour grapes.  In our club we have a guy who won club titles for many years.  Yes, he was a low single digit handicapper, but there have been quite a few others who played at his level.  Yet his mental strength and experience helped him win in many years when he shouldn't have.  Did he sandbag.  DEFINITELY NOT.  Did he just minimize his mistakes and pull out shots as and when needed.  Definitely.
    • Day 111 - Worked on my grip and higher hands in the backswing. Full swings with the PRGR.
    • First off please forgive me if this is not a proper post or not in the proper location, still learning the ropes around here. Second, it's important that I mention I am very new to the game with only about 10 rounds of golf under my belt, most being 9 holes. Only this year have I started playing 18. That being said, I am hooked, love the game and am very eager to learn and improve. To give you an idea of my skill, the last 2 18 rounds I played were 110 and 105. Not great at all, however I am slowly improving as I learn. Had been having bad slicing issues with the driver and hybrids but after playing some more and hitting the range, I've been able to improve on that quite a bit and have been hitting more straight on average. Irons have always come easier to me as far as hitting straight for some reason. Wedges have needed a lot of improvement, but I practice chipping about 20-30 mins about 3-5 times a week and that's helped a lot. Today I went to the range and started to note down some distance data, mind you I am averaging the distances based off my best guess compared to the distance markers on the range. I do not currently own a range finder or tracker. From reading some similar posts I do understand that filling gaps is ideal, but I am having a some issues figuring out those gaps and understanding which clubs to keep and remove as some gaps are minimal between clubs. Below is an image of the chart I put together showing the clubs and average distances I've been hitting and power applied. For some reason I am hitting my hybrids around the same distances and I am not sure why. Wondering if one of them should be removed. I didn't notice a huge loft difference either. The irons I have are hand me downs from my grandfather and after playing with them a bit, I feel like they're just not giving me what could potentially be there. The feel is a bit hard/harsh and underwhelming if that makes sense and I can't seem to get decent distances from them. Wondering if I should be looking to invest in some more updated irons and if those should be muscle backs or cavity backs? My knowledge here is minimal. I have never played with modern fairway woods, only the classic clubs that are actually wood and much smaller than modern clubs. I recently removed the 4 and 5 woods from my bag as I was never using them and I don't hit them very well or very far. Wondering if I should look into some more modern fairway wood options? I appreciate any feedback or advice anyone is willing to give, please forgive my lack of knowledge. I am eager to learn! Thank you.
