Can anyone here who plays the mp-32, 33, or 67 give me some feed back on how they like the clubs, and why they chose the model they chose over the other? What's the biggest difference between the 33's and 67's?

I have not hit the mp67 irons so I can't give you a comparison with my mp33's.

but here is the website for Mizuno USA and the mp67's

http://www.mizunousa.com/equipment.n...golf&cat;=irons

I love my mp33 and have played them for about 2 years. They look and feel great, they are easier to hit then you might imagine, I bet your golf store will carry a used set of mp33 and also carry the mp67's. I would recommend trying hitting them both and see for yourself.

I highly recommend the mp33 irons, I play the 5-pw but I am hitting my irons so well, I am going to put the 4 iron back in my bag and give them another try on the course on Friday.

They feel solid and buttery when you hit them, they also give you a lot of feedback on how you are hitting your iron shots and if you are a little off you will feel it upon impact.

I have the Dynamic Gold Regular which is about 127 grams so make sure you know what stiffness and weight is just right for your swing. I also like the Nippon golf shaft that are under 100 grams.

I have shot my best 3 rounds with the mp33's, a round of 3 under and 2 rounds of 1 under this last year.

Another reason I believe the mp33 irons are better value is the price you can pick up a used set on ebay from $150- $350 depending on the conditions. the mp67 look just like blades with a notch cut in the center. I played mp30's before buying the mp33 used on ebay for about $250 in good condition. The mp30's played just like blades and I am sure the mp67 is closer to design as the mp33, you might as well get the real deal with the mp33's in my opinion.

I picked up a set of MP-33 (4-P) off ebay for $120 shipped about 6 months ago. I was intimidated at first but am starting to get comfortable with them, especially 7-P. I've had some great 5, 6 shots but not as consistent. I came from the Adams GI line and the feel and sound are a marked improvement. Make the right swing and the club will make you want to keep playing...As for comparison, I hit the 52-62-67 6I on the launch monitor recently and thought it would be more forgiving for me. May be for others, but not really for me, and I don't have the most consistent swing. So I would echo ks8829's comments above - don't be intimidated and you might as well get the 33's if you can. Just saw the 30's at a play-it-again sports for $150, may try them out. Also, the shaft obviously matters. Swapped out the s300's on the 33's to lite xl regular's - not a strong swinger. Have fun, good luck.

Mizuno's brochure for their 2009 irons suggests MP-67's for players with a handicap index between +4 and 6. In other words, they're pretty demanding. You've got to be able to hit the ball ON the button EVERYtime you swing.

The MP 32's have been the long-standing signature blades for Mizuno. The sole is very narrow, as it should be with proper blades. The narrow sole and low bounce can cause (or allow) the heads to dig pretty deep, so if you miss and the ball comes off above the sweetspot, the distance suffers BIG TIME.

I love my MP-33's. They look great and the ability to work the ball at will was what really made me love them. I think they're one of the easier blades to hit.

you should give the mp-57s a try. They are great clubs. They feel buttery smooth at impact and very good feedback if you hit the ball wrong. They might be goin on sale soon because of the -62's and the -67's. You should definitely give them a try.

I've played with both the 32s and the 30s. The 30s were nice but made this clicking sound that drove me nuts. I've had the 32s for one year, now, and love them. (Even though I'm constantly searching for "it" I still keep coming back to the 32s)

FWIW, the 32s are a smooth iron. Simple look at address, great feeback, workability and softness.

You can probably find any Mizuno Iron for a great price, the new series, included. I've seen them on ebay for as little as $500. (52 and 62)

I haven't hit the 32 or 33 and I haven't played the MP 67's on the course. (I did play Snake Eyes 600b blades for awhile though)

But I keep a MP 67 3 iron in trunk (and golfsmith 1 iron) and hit them at the range to keep my swing in check.

On the course I take advantage of the forgiveness of the MX 200's.

The arguments I hear for using blades are the following:

1 - They look so pretty!
2 - When hit perfectly, they feel so good
3 - I can work the ball better with them.
4 - They hit the ball lower
5 - "When i've switched to cavity backs my swing gets loose"
6 - The clubheads are smaller making it easier to play out of rough
7 - The PW head is small which increases feel and ability to hit chips cleaner.
8 - Perhaps the biggest reason people play blades, "Real players play them"

For me 1 and 2 aren't factors at all. The MX 200's are forged, and to me feel just as good when struck in the center.

3 - "Workability" The number of balls that I have to "work" on the course is so small, that's it's not even worth the consideration. Plus, I can work the ball just fine with the MX 200's

4 - "Hit ball lower" This to me is the #1 reason why I have even considered hitting blades. I hit the ball very high, and the blades definitely launch lower. But again, on all but the windiest of days, it doesn't really make much difference.

5 - "Swing gets loose" This IS a good reason to make blades part of your golf game. But I feel you should make them part of your PRACTICE game.

6 - "Smaller clubheads out of rough" I think there is some merit to this. To me however, especially with the amount of rough that are on the courses that 95% of the people play it's not a factor to me. Plus a good players cavity back like the MX 200 is only 4 mm longer than the MP 67.

7 - PW is smaller making chipping easier. I can understand this argument. I've tried chipping with super game improvement PW's and it was not fun. To me however the MX 200 PW isn't all that much bigger. I also chip with the ball further up in my stance to take advantage of the bounce. There is a solution though if you really hate the look of the PW on chips. Get a blade or MP 57 PW and the rest MX 200.

8 - "Real players play them" Not exactly true, only about %30 of Tour players play them anymore. If +5-8 HDCP tour pro's aren't playing them, then neither am I!

I have a mixed set of MP 60 & 32's with 5.0 PX shafts. I really like Mizuno b/c the ball feels soft off the face, of course the shaft can make a major difference in feel, (stepped vs unstepped, softer flex vs harder flex, rifle vs regular, etc.). However, generally the concensus is that the MP series are "buddar".

The MP 37's and 67's are 2 very different heads. As I understand it the 37's were a progression of the 33's that didn't enjoy as much acceptance as the 33's. The 67's are a progression of the 32's with the cut muscle and a smaller head, so very much a players club. So to summarize, if you like a soft, buttery feel in your irons you'll like Mizuno's and if you want to be very specific with your striking and a buttery feel, get the 67's. One note and of course its just my opinion. For what a great product Mizuno puts out the customer service is just the opposite, it plain sucks at best.

As you can see in my signature i have the mp-67s and i found that they are demanding but pretty forgiving for a blade. I am a 10 handicap which fits outside of the mizuno recomendation so i would say not throw them out based on the handicap recomendation. I was easily an 18 handicap when I first got the 67s in February of 08. Really helped me improve.

I also have MP67. They feel really soft when you make good contact. I just bought it about two months ago. My first round with it I shot 8 over which was pretty good.

If you want to improve, I suggest you buy 1-2 blades for practicing (just like others do) because you need to be more consistent hitting these blades.

    • after some years experimenting around, I've settled on a mixed bag of mostly Pat Simmons vintage Tiger Sharks (the ones with the blue enamal on back of the clubheads): 3 thru 9 iron, + 3 wedges (PW, sand, chipper). Those super heavy clubheads really help me get my swing down and thru the ball. Also I carry an old Taylor 18-degree rescue club, 17-degree and 14 degree ImagineGolf metalwoods, and the famous Pat Simmons "alien" 1-iron. Finally a real brick-on-a-stick, the big-headed Bettinardi Ben Hogan model putter which is excellent for taking the break out of short putts and getting the ball hole high on long ones. Wait....is that 15 clubs? Oh well....
    • this topic brought to mind one my favorite golf-spectator memories. Back when, living in Santa Barbara CA, parked in my yellow cab just behind the 10th tee  (c. 380 yard par 4) at SB Muni golf course while eating lunch. A twosome comes by, and first up is this fat little mexican guy who takes a kinda squirelly practice swing, then addresses the ball and bashes a long, high, perfectly straight drive up to w/in about 5 yards of the green. Other guy is dressed to the 9's, pulls out what looks like a $300 driver....and hits a maybe 150-yard pop fly. Slams clubhead to the ground and yells, "it's fat! It's fat! Everything is fat today!!"  And that's how I learned what a "fat" shot is.
    • day 57. Technique practice in the net. Really trying to slow down.
    • It may not be surprising that in the previous 7,064 posts, this particular point has been discussed. To which I will counter: If we're talking about results, why only the majors? Unless you know something that I don't, neither of us are in any position to judge whether Woods or Nicklaus lived their overall life better, not that such a thing is even objectively measurable, nor is it relevant to the discussion.
    • As we've had to tell other people, the topic is which is the better GOLFER, not human being.
