So my mother is going to send my dad and I on the father and son PGA Tour Experience weekend at TPC Scottsdale for my father's 65th and my 30th. I am very excited about this opportunity and the fact that I will be able to play TPC and also play with my father.

The only thing is is I am a little anxious as I have a rather high handicap, and will most likely be chili dipping and worm burning balls right and left. I guess in the grand scheme of things I shouldn't be concerned as this is a great opportunity to spend some time with my dad, and we are paying for the trip.

I won't be the only person that has hacked it up on the course right?

Don't worry about it. You won't be even close to the first person to hack up the course and you won't be the last.

Money is more prevalent in golf than skill, millionaire 30 handicaps probably play out there everyday. LOL

No, of course not. Look at (your least favorite touring pro who played there)!

Seriously, the course is likely (I haven't been there) set up so that people of different skill levels can have a good time there. Don't play from the FBR Open tees. Ask the starter what set of tees you can enjoy. And what's your dad's handicap?

my dad is a 12 handicap so I assume he will welcome the challenges the course has to offer.

The white and blue tees (respectively) at both courses seem to have reasonable distances, course ratings, and slope ratings for players of your and your father's handicaps. But I'm just going by the online scorecards. Still, the two of you should be fine.

don't let the majesty of the place overwhelm you. just come up with a game plan.
when i'm going to drop dime on an expensive course.. i try to make the best of it.. i'll study the holes and try to come up with a game plan on how to play my best for whatever swing I might have that day (draw, fade or the worst a push).

just enjoy it. the place is awesome....and you're out there with pops....nothing can beat that...
