Just wanted some info on increasing my club head speed. I have been swinging a weighted club but just wanted to know if there were any other methods. Thanks in advance

I'm pretty flexible but it doesn't equate to my clubhead speed...

On another note, I don't know how your game is but at 25+ hc, you should be working on repeatability rather than swinging out of your shoes.

Increased club head speed comes with an increased efficiency of swing path. The more efficient your swing path is the more speed you will transfer from your body's core to the ball.

Also, loose muscles are fast muscles, trying to swing fast is typically counter productive, due to tensing, if you don't have good fundamentals.

Holding everything back so that the clubhead whips through the impact zone. Try swinging a rope or whip and try to get it to snap at the bottom. While the advice to swing hard is well intended, you must swing hard and fast to develop clubhead speed. When poorer player swing hard, their arms flail out off the chest or they yank the club down, not of which are swinging the club.

Try chopping a tree and swing hard or hammering a nail hard. You will see all the strength is in the body and it allows the axe or hammer to stay back and position so it can fire through and accelerate into the target at the correct moment. Golfers tend to force the club out of position by swinging hard using their arms.

Thanks guys i will try out the advice in the next couple of days.

How exactly does one increase flexibility? Any examples?

Yoga is a good start. Check out also mytpi.com for specific exercises. Lots of threads on this, too.

Remember drive for show and putt and get up and down with your short game for lower scores.

Anthony Kim saids that a good short game is more important than distance, you can always take one more club.

Get more flexible. That's the main thing that contributes to clubheadspeed.

Get to the gym and do "explosive" exercises.

Get one of those weighted clubs.

Swing out of your shoes on every shot for a while. If you practice swinging faster then you will get faster.

Golf is a game in which the ball always lies poorly and the player always lies well.

I apologize for not answering your question, but may I ask.....what is your current clubhead speed, and what exactly are you hoping to gain by increasing it?

To be honest, weighted clubs are more for "muscle memory" than they are for gaining muscle.
