bridgestone irons

I have never hit one myself but have read good reviews (though they're very few of them) and they can be picked up for fairly cheep on ebay. I was wondering if anyone has hit or played with bridgestone's and how they liked them.

i think they are very underrated irons. even though i dont use them, i have hit my friends set a lot and they feel just as nice (or maybe better) than my titleists. he has j33cbs. they arent tough to hit and they are also workable. give them a shot, i dont think you will be disapointed

Great clubs. If I wouldn't've had to reshaft/regrip a set of J33 combos I would've bought them instead of my Mizunos. They look good from cavity back to blade. Have a little harder feel than my Mizunos, but it's a very solid feeling. They're workable and the distance is what you'd expect for traditionally lofted irons.

I believe Bridgestone forges Nike's irons. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've heard that from at the local shop I frequent as well as a PGA teaching pro.

I am sure the Nike lovers on this board will argue with that point... but the Nike rep said the same thing to me. Considering I rep another equipment line I dont think he would BS me.

Anyway... about Bridgestone irons... I have hit the Tourstage 2009 X-Blade GR C-1 and I loved them. Bridgestone makes solid products.

To "clicky" (hard feeling) for me, but still a damn good iron.

I can't disagree with your assessment or opinion however I can say that I found the irons to be just the opposite. As with all golf equipment it is a personal choice and the J36's happened to be mine. They are the softest irons I have ever hit and that is the reason they are in my bag. The J33 irons, IMO, were a tad more difficult and seemed to punish you more on a mishit then the J36 irons. I have been gaming mine for almost 10 months…and I plan to keep them in the bag until I find something I like better.

I think they make some great irons....don't know anything that's game improvement at current time....most of their gear looks to be directed to better players.

Their line of balls are outstanding. There is a clear category winner in ever ball type.

I've heard the same rumors about them making items for Nike....but the rumor I heard was that they made Nike's balls.

That doesn't matter to me, I pretty good with irons, its just my short game that makes my handicap high.

I tried one of these as a demo,wasn't expecting much,i though they were class,i preferred them over my irons,nike's and callaway forged.I thought the callaway tour x22's were class also.I would swap mine for a set instantly.

I guess I was a little remiss as I haven't hit the J36's, just the J33's, which I based my assessment on. And although I didn't like them that much they are still of excellent quality.

I believe that Bridgestone's foundry does a fair amount of forgings and casts for other club companies.

hopefully this wont get deleted this time, but anyway, i really like some of the Bridgestone irons. Ive owned J33's and loved them. I also had a set of the GC Mids which actually werent bad at all. but my favorite Bridgestone irons of all time are from their Precept line. Im currently playing the Precept Forged Tour Premium CB's, and this is my 2nd set so far:


i also have a set of the Precept EC603 ProSpecs that i will play every once in a while. these things are great feeling blades. i actually made a combo set out of the EC603 Cavity Backs and the EC603 ProSpec Blades:


and i also have a set of the Precept Perimeter Weighted II irons that are awesome. the topline is as thin as a knife and the soles have a great grind to them. they are a players cavity but are actually pretty forgiving.


i dont know why ive always been drawn to Bridgestones Precept line, but it is what it is. Bridgestones TourStage line also makes some REALLY sweet irons....

I play the GC.Mids. I like the mid size with a thin topline and not too thick sole but yet still forgiving. Shots on the sweetspot feels awesome.
