Am I the only one using steel shafted hybrids?

My 2 Hybrid is steel shafted. I like steel in it because I feel like I can swing harder and still be in control. I used to play my hybrids in steel only, but do think graphite provides a little more distance so my 4H and 5H are both graphite, as is my driver and 3 wood. In my hybrids with graphite I feel like I do not have to swing as hard as with the steel shafted hybrids I've used and that helps with consistency. Currently the gap between my 2H and 4H is only about 12-15 yards, so it's about the same as carrying a 3H. My last 3 wood was also steel for the same reason as my 2H - I felt more in control with it, but finally realized I was giving up too much distance and have a big gap between driver and 3 wood once I got my new driver. It was pretty close distance wise with my 2H and now I have about a 20-25 gap between 2H and 3W.

I like steel in everything but a driver, because I'd rather be straighter with everything else. I only hit driver when I've got room for my misses.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

my older hybrid had graphite shaft and my new one is steel shaft. I see zero difference in the graphite and steel shafts but my newer one hits further and it's 22* instead of 18*

No, you are not the only one. I have a steel shaft in my hybrid because I like the feel and the heavier weight in that particular club.

FWIW, Ernie Els has steel shafts in both of his fairway woods. They are the same ones Geoff Ogilvy uses in his irons: FCM 7.3 original rifle shafts.

I have a Titleist 503-H which is awesome. my Nike irons come with a 3/4 Hybrid which I very rarely use. I much prefer to pull out my Titleist hybrid.

I also have steel shafts on all my hybrids. I'll take the control over the distance, although I think I'm leaving a good 10-15 yards out there by not going with the graphite shafts.

I build my own clubs and swingweighted my 3- & 4-hybrids with steel shafts. The swingweight and dynamic weight closely matches all the other irons in my bag. I like the feel of the proper swingweight and the control I get with steel versus graphite. But that's just me.
I make all my own clubs:
