Do any of you guys own an R9 460?

I'm in the market for a new driver and have been thinking about purchasing one of these. I've heard good things from some of the guys selling the clubs, but I'd like to hear from people who play with them. If you don't like this club, what driver would you reccommend that is fairly new to the market?

Thanks in advance.

i own it and i personnally love it...

i had the 420 version with the MWT, and to be honest, the 460cc is better especially if your a mid to high handicapper.

i dont use the whole MWT so the 420 was a waste, i set up my 460 to a NU position to help make my fade a little more pronounced, and when its a predominantly right to left course ill go with Neutral Right.

get the TP version or youll be changing out the shaft relatively quick.

overall its a good club, i still pull out my ping G10 every now and then, but im glad i spent the money for the R9

Game one. While it isn't longer than any other driver I have had I find that it is wicked accurate and I seem like I can dial it in pretty well. I am sure that that has to do with improvement of my swing as well. I have a 10.5 reg and a 9.5. I was fitted for the 9.5 but never got accustomed to it and feel like the golf shop duped me (they only had 9.5s and 11.5s). So it is looking for a new home if you are interested...

I have one, it replaced my 905R and it works very well for me. I wanted to upgrade the shaft with the TP version, but after testing both, the stock shaft works well for my swing. It's longer than the 905 and MUCH more forgiving.

I would demo most of the drivers first, I found it not very forgiving compared to nikes or pings. It was nice if you like to fiddle with your driver though.

pretty sure the Ping Rapture is much more forgiving. Personally I play a titleist 905R which is an older model but I enjoy it :) it's not as forgiving as the rapture or the r9 but i like it :)

I would recommend it but i would wait for the Super Tri version it is basically the 460 with MWT and a dark finish and more new stuff like that

I am sure that he bought something by now since this thread is 7 months old.

Had one briefly.

Nice adustabiliylty...but essentially left it alone once I found my sweet spot at slightly opened.

I had the standard stiff flex shaft and found the club just a little "dead". Great swings yielded marginal results. Maybe I had a bad head?

It's worth a try, I suppose.

Does anybody know how many degrees of loft can be added or subtracted on the R9 460 ?

For instance I just bought a 10.5 degree today and I was wondering how much loft can be added with the adjustments this club has.  Was hoping to set it around 12.0 degrees.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the chart. Was hoping to add loft without adding a draw bias but oh well. I'll have to play around with it at the range and see how each setting works.

One question I had regarding the chart. Wouldn't NU square add more loft than the N setting? The little manual with the driver shows a higher flight path in the NU setting. Related question, does upright refer to the loft or lie angle? I was under the assumption it was the loft.

    • They're playing 16 games in each match though. Don't need much of an advantage before that number of players significantly loads things in their favor. The other team has to win 8.5 games to beat them. At a 65/35 split, that's a lot and pretty unlikely (about 10% of the time).
    • Why does the second sentence have to be true? If they're used to playing a tough course that's improperly rated, they're going to both have inflated indexes and have higher skills relative to them. If their home course features a variety of different challenges, I don't see why their game wouldn't travel well. And on the flip side, some courses and their members take pride in how hard their course is and how tough it's rated, and that bit of vanity ends up hurting them in these kinds of competitions.
    • I discussed it today but can call back and re-confirm.  I would love to be wrong on that point. Note: That may have been before they changed the hotel due to lack of room at Hampton Inn. Update on Friday Hotel: If I can give a count to EagleSticks they can get us a discount on Friday night at the hotel.  I do not have the $$ but should be much lower than the $249 the hotel quoted me. I do not have my list with me for the Friday hotels but if you want one, please post ASAP and I will get the rate and get them held. Thanks @billchao for catching this.
    • There are plenty of amazing things people are doing every single day, but if other people don't care about it, nobody is going to notice. LPGA is not popular that popular, so despite the great achievement, is not getting any attention and is going to be forgotten very soon. On the other side, if tiger farts louder than normal we are definitively going to know about it because tiger is popular.
    • @StuM when I called the course a couple of months ago they said you can mention that you want to add an extra night to the hotel when you book the package through them and the people who are in charge of the stay and play can handle it, did you ask them about that?
