So I was on the practice range today, warming up with my friends, and we decide to go up to the shack and grab something to eat. On the way back, there's a lone staff bag with a bunch of "sock-style" headcovers, you know, the floppy kind. Anyways, I get a little closer and read the name "Morgan Pressel" and get kind of excited. Ricky Barnes and Hal Sutton have been around lately practicing so I figured she was doing the same. I go back to the practice tee and keep hitting balls while keeping one eye on the bag.

After a couple minutes on of the guys I know that works at my course comes by and I ask him if he knows anything about where she is. He says she's here, but that he hasn't seen her.

After that, one of the assistant pros comes by and I ask him if he knows anything. "Yeah, she's here. She already played today, used my yardage book. I think she's still here though."

After some more range balls, two guys drive by in a cart and pick up her bag. I consider it a lost cause.

Me and my friends want to go play so my friend John and I head over to the starter where I see her and a man who I assume is her dad heading over the bridge to either the short game course or the North Course. After a couple minutes of mulling it over John and I head over.

I didn't see her on the practice green for the North Course so I assumed she was on the short game course. Turns out she was and she was on the phone with her back turned to me as I approached her with my hat and a sharpie, but the man I assume was her father called her attention to me and she was very pleasant to me, signing my hat. We chat for a sec, but I didn't want to waste her time.

I thanked her and added a "kick Wie's assss" for good measure.

And then you gave her one of your staff Sand Trap business cards...?

Ugh. Cell phones on the golf course. Hack.

Heh, I do agree with that.

Aside from that minor problem, however, it's cool as hell that you met Morgan Pressel. Needless to say, not many golf stars hang out around Lawton, OK. I hope Pressel has lots of success on the LPGA Tour in the future.
