I have been playing the D2 feels for the last several weeks and enjoy the ball quite a bit. I have good distance and love the feel of it off the putter. While at the store purchasing more golf balls, I decided to give the d2 straights a chance. Can anybody comment on them vs. the D2 feel? I imagine its a low spin ball which means less chance of checking up on and around the greens. What about feel off the putter? Did distance suffer any compared to the D2 feel?

In my bag:

some golf clubs

a few golf balls

a bag of tee's some already broken the rest soon to be

a snickers wrapper (if you have seen me play, you would know you are not going anywhere for a while)

and an empty bottle of water

D2 is great ball! I use to use it when i was starting out and it feels so good. I used straight for a while then switch over to Feel. Right now im experimenting with different balls.

To me, the straight produces a little bit of longer distance, and straighter shots. As for on the green, it wasnt too bad. The ball wont hold spins but feeling is okay. Feels a bit harder on the putting green, and not as gummy as the feel. Both good balls, get straight if you have a slice tendency.

I would definitely recommend D2 to anybody, they feel good, perform good, and priced well. The D2 Feel almost feels like 3 piece ball for only $15 bucks.

I liked the D2 Feel better, did have more feel. The straight was a little longer and of course straighter. Both a great cheap, 2 piece ball IMO. Cannot really go wrong with either.

Completely agree with this assessment. Usually prefer the Feel, but when the course is wet or playing really long I may put the Strait into play. Both feel good off the putter.

As you can imagine, the Straight is a little straighter and longer than the Feel; but you will also sacrafice some backspin so the Straight wont hold greens as well as the Feel.
Both are pretty good, its just a matter of what is more important in your game: a soft feel in the shortgame or straighter shots.

I played the D2 Feel for about two years and really liked them, but am trying various Slazenger balls for awhile. I'm trying to gain distance, but retain some spin.

I haven't played the D2 Straight. I just know the D2 Feel, and may eventually return to it.

If you don't have a slice or hook problem, I would say stick with the Feel. The extra spin - but not excessive spin - comes in handy for partial shots around the green.

Focus, connect and follow through!
