that Charlie Wi is one of those Tilt and Stack guys and they have a tendency to get stuck on the right side. Now I haven't been learning the S and T very long but I know that is a completely ridiculous statement. You would think that a person would be educated on a topic before they would elaborate. I know it happens all the time but it's kinda crappy.

Not many people on the Golf Channel have much of an idea what they are talking about. The commentators know some stuff but also spout incorrect info all the time.

I think Win McMurry on the Golf Channel is simply hilarious because not one time have I ever heard her give any sort of insight or show that she has any knowledge whatsoever about Golf. She's cute, though. Considering SnT advocates staying more on the left side, yes, that statement is pretty ridiculous.

You could tell they wanted to rip on S&T;, but Charlie kept hitting great shots, and they awkwardly had nothing to say afterwards, it was great. Just silence.

In addition, she contributes as a reporter on Golf Central as well as on the weekly Golf Channel program the Grey Goose 19th Hole. I didn't hear Nobilo's comments, but I respect his knowledge of the game. Does anyone here know whether Wi or the other S&T; golfers do have a tendency to get stuck on their right side? I'm not talking S&T; philosophy, but the reality of how they hit the ball. Face it, Charlie Wi might be a good journeyman pro, but he is not one of the big names out there. Maybe getting stuck on his right side is why he doesn't win more.

I took Nobilo to mean that Wi had problems getting stuck on the right side and adopted S&T; to help fix it. He went on to say that Wi had always tried for a mote centered swing and so S&T; was a goodmodel for him. He also said everyone should find instruction that complemented their natural tendencies.

He pointed out that some instructors called it a reverse pivot (no shock there) but that Wi got through the ball really well. He even mentioned how the model is based a lot off of TGM principles.

Honestly, I thought it was one of the more positive S&T; commentaries I've heard on tv - a 180 degree difference from Chamblee and Faldo.

I took it to mean that the S&T; guys stayed more centered, and so they would have a tendency to stay further back on a severe uphill (which Wi was on when he said it). I didn't really consider it to be anti S&T;, but the way he said it may have made it sound that way, even I did a double take at first. But if you look at the S&T; model, they don't shift weight as much to the back, maybe they don't shift as much to the front?

When he said it, Charlie was right up on a trap. His right foot was almost in the trap. I think he was talking about the the balance needed to hit that shot. I think he thought Charlie might fall back into the trap.

I saw Charlie on TV and we thought we heard him say "Tilt and Stack" but the noise in the grill room was too loud to hear much else. We'd just finished a practice round at the Ross course here.

I apparently fell asleep long enough for Wi and Lunde to both screw up something on the back nine here in Connecticut. Oh well.

My statement still stands, she doesn't say much other than "Phil with a great birdie on (insert par and hole number)". Kelly Tilghman for example seems to have a better knowledge of how the game is played. Of course, she watches and announces a lot, but that's all I'm saying really. Win just doesn't say much or give any real insight.

Dudes, seriously, I don't like to hear things like getting stuck. They kept saying that about Tiger at the Open. He's been stuck since last November. No more "Stuck". Going back to my Pink Elephant walking across the fairway in a bikini swing thought.

Well, regardless, I think she is doing fine. She seems to have some good experience under her belt working for PGA Tour Entertainment. That surely accounts for something.

But, she's a journalist. She does fine. There are plenty of golf journalists who aren't great golfers.

      I honestly believe if they play longer tees by 300-400 yards, closer to or over 7,000 yards, more rough, tougher greens, women's golf will become much more gripping.  BTW, if it weren't for Scottie killing it right now, men's golf isn't exactly compelling.

      Yeah, that. It stands out… because it's so rare. And interest in Caitlin Clark will likely result in a very small bump to the WNBA or something… and then it will go back down to very low viewership numbers. Like it's always had. A small portion, yep. It doesn't help that she lost, either. Girls often don't even want to watch women playing sports. My daughter golfs… I watch more LPGA Tour golf than she does, and it's not even close. I watch more LPGA Tour golf than PGA Tour golf, even. She watches very little of either. It's just the way it is. Yes, it's a bit of a vicious cycle, but… how do you break it? If you invest a ton of money into broadcasting an LPGA Tour event, the same coverage you'd spend on a men's event… you'll lose a ton of money. It'd take decades to build up the interest. Even with interest in the PGA Tour declining.
