What does this mean?

I was hitting a slice the last time I was playing.

To fix it I aimed left of the green and took the ball WAY on the inside and shortened my swing.
The ball launched straight at the green, with a 5 yard draw at the most.

Did I hit a straight hook/slice?
I can't call it a straight shot since it should have gone straight left.

sounds like you either pushed it or sliced it depending on how much you aimed to the left...

You hit a push draw, it doesn't matter how you were standing. Everyone has a different swing path, so we name the ball flight from the actual flight of the ball, not how it came to happen. Knowing what caused it is of course crucial.

How did you take the ball inside, or did you mean hands or club?

If you aimed left and the ball curved right to left 5 yards into the green, you hit a push draw. When you sliced it, you were swinging out-to-in or came into the ball with an open clubface. When opening the stance, you would slice it even more, had you swung the same way. Since you focused on getting hands or club deeper, along with a shorter backswing, you were able to create an in-to-out swing path, which, combined with a square or slightly open clubface (relative to the target), results in a draw.

If you do struggle with slicing, I would suggest getting some videos from down the line and see what happens. You could be taking the hands back away from the body, or perhaps getting the club too far inside, which cause you to loop it over the top.

Zeph was nearly there. The reason the ball curved from right to left was that the clubface was closed to the swing path at impact. As he mentioned tho it was open to the target line as it started well right of the target. The length of backswing wouldn't really affect anything however. Maybe just make it easier for you to control the clubhead.

First of all, when you aim for a target, your body should always be slightly left of the target (the old railroad tracks analogy). But even if you were really open, the inside path may have had your shoulders square when it counted. Additionally, you shortened your swing which may have lessened the over-the-top swing and your path was actually aimed at the green. Finally your release was such that you created that draw. So it sounds like you hit a draw with an open stance.
