I am in need of some decent sunglasses to golf in when it is sunny. I am starting to suffer from eye fatigue....and that is very new to me since it seems as if the only thing that works well for me are my eyes (20-15 vision and want it to stay that way!) Up here in Maine we don't exactly have a ton of places to go to look and try on golf sunglasses which is why I'm asking you all for advice.

I have a tallish narrow head. It's kind of shaped like a peanut (not really doing myself justice here). I bought a pair of Tifosi Pave's but the ear part just bowed right around my head.....was about an inch from the back of my temples. They were comfy but it looked like a hula hoop around my head.....

Any suggestions would be great! I prefer the style where the frame does not go around the entire lens.

How much are you willing to spend? Oakley's are tough to beat in my opinion, worth the price tag if you are willing to take care of them. I have the flak jackets and love them.

half jackets are around 100. They are pretty popular, but I personally don't like the way they stick out on the sides.

I'm a peanuthead too, not ashamed to admit it. Maui Jim Kanahas are the best sunnies I've ever found for folks of our persuasion. Very light, tough, good lenses, stay on your face even when you sweat. A bit over your budget, but well worth it in my opinion.

Stretch.

I looked at tifosi, and since I'm a cheapskate, I went with http://www.sunglasswarehouse.com/ and got a couple of polarized sports glasses for about $14 each. Sure they're flimsy, but I don't really mind, as long as they protect your eyes a bit.

You can't beat the Oakley Flak Jackets with the G-30(golf specific) lenses. The flak jackets let you interchange lenses for whatever climate you need. I'm a Oakley fanatic so there is no compromising on my part when I purchase sunglasses. I already own 7 Oakleys(5 sunglasses, 2 Snowmobile goggles). Forest, you can buy the cheap tifosi sunglasses, but I have yet to have my Oakleys break after 7+ years.

I have an older pair of Costa Del Mar's Sandman model. They are glass lenses with superb vision clarity. I just bought a pair of Maui Jim's Makaha model. I LOVE those glasses. Comfortable, light weight, and the clarity is good. Glass lenses are heavier but the clarity is amazing in comparison to any plastic lense. Go to some eye doctors. Many will have a selection of good sunglasses. Step outside with them and make the comparisons yourself.

I bought a pair for Callaway S205BK's for $60 at my local pro shop. They are great and everyone I play with who has tried them wants to get a pair.

Tifosi's are great. I wear the Ventoux. They cost about $60 and come with 3 different lenses for different light conditions. The optics are excellent as well.

I also have the Oakley Flak Jackets with g30 lenses and they are amazing. I wear them running and golfing all the time and they are very comfortable to wear for long periods of time.

I would agree, plus Oakley makes several golf specific lens for a variety of their frames. I still play in the M frame, but own several other styles.

I would have to say that the Oakley's I bought last summer were my first, but not my last pair of Oakley's I will buy. I started out with the GasCan's because I liked the designs, they did a good job of keeping wind out of my eyes with my allergy problems that are caused at the beginning and end of the midwest golf season. I bought a pair of Flak Jacket XLJ's this season, and I love them as well... I have a smaller head and face for a 6'4" body, but those both seem to work well! I would reccomend an ebay look if you want to get them a little cheaper, but be cautious!
