How much can you bend a wedge's loft?

I have a 56 bent to 55....can I reliably take it to 54?

most wedges can be taken 2 degrees one way or the other, but check with mizzy first.

Forged can be bent more than cast typically. One degree isn't much. I have bent cast heads and had them snap. not fun

You screw with the bounce (obviously) and I've also heard it screws up the offset too. I have a 52 and 62 I want to take to 50 and 60 and the bounce change wont be a HUGE issue for me but I dont need to screw with offset (something I cant see or feel) and take reliability out of it. If I know how it hits now I can adjust for a loft change but i dont know what the hell changing offset does.

2 degrees is fine. Just know that by strengthening your loft by 2 degrees you will lose 2 degrees of bounce. Also forged clubs (and any, really) will tend to bend back after a while. I would get it checked every couple of months, depending on how much you use that club.

The club makers I have talked with said that you can bend a wedge 2* without effecting the bounce, anything more than that and it will. This is the reason most OEM's only suggest 2* bend, they can be bent more but then the bounce will change. I would imagine it depends on who you talk to what you would get for an answer, but this is what I have been told by a couple of local club repair people.

If you bend it .00001 degree you change the bounce by .00001 degree. There is no way possible with the current level of quantum physics we're at in our lives that you can bend a wedges loft and not affect bounce. The loft and bounce are fixed. Like an L. If you bend the L you have moved the bottom horizontal and vertical line both.
Maybe the clubmaker meant it wouldnt be a noticable change in bounce but even that is a stretch. It's just impossible to believe if you even have a clue what bounce is.

Bounce changes right along with the loft. A 52/8 wedge bent to 53 will now have 9 degrees of bounce, a 60/7 bent to 58 will now have 5 degrees of bounce.
