Was at my local golf galaxy today and I happened to stroll over to the bags (because I want a new one) and I basically fell in love with the look of this bag. I was wondering does anyone have this bag/had this bag and could you tell me what you thought of it. Also Im kind of confused where to place my clubs in this bag. My current set up is the following:

Driver / 3 wood
3h and 4h hybrid
5-9 iron
PW/GW/SW/LW
Putter

Where would you place them in this bag. I have ideas of what I would do but to me I think it would look weird? Here is a pic of how the bag is divided.

Driver / 3 wood

Top left hole and the one below it.

3h and 4h hybrid

The two holes down the left side.

Putter

The big well at the top.

5-9 iron

That leaves the three big holes left:

5, 6, 7I 8, 9, PW GW, SW, LW I have a different setup makeup and do it like this when I use a bag with that style top (the brackets are the single-club things on the left side): [Driver] Putter [3W] 3, 4, 5I [Hybrid] 6, 7, 8I [LW] 9I, PW, SW

I have a Grom. I agree with setting up the clubs as described above.
I honestly don't love the bag, but I do like it quite a bit.

I would be unhappy with it if I walked more. It is a bit heavy, and the stand does not flip out as easily as my hoofers used to.

It does, however, have a nice array of pockets and a insulated bottle pocket.

I would probably buy another one.

I never walk so it being a little on the heavier side doesn't bother me. I just really liked the look of the black plaid with the red like such:

Depending on how old your Grom bag is, you might have the older model bag that had "issues" with the stand mechanism functioning properly. I have a 2010 Gram with the updated stand, and I have absolutely no problems with it whatsoever.

Exactly. From what I have gathered on other forums, in 2009 there were several issues addressed which made their way into most of the 2009 bags and newer. I have a Nexos which thankfully is in good shape, but it was fickle enough to actually get pulled from the market.

What do you mean by fickle? I just bought a Nexos 09 choosing it over the grom 09 and 10 models. They were about the same price except for the 09 was $20 cheaper on ebay. Anyways it seems to work great though the sucker can get heavy after 18.

I got my Grom on monday and I love it! My layout (with one less hybrid, but a 4I instead), is what is described above and its working out great. I don't find it very heavy; I carried it once, on a 3-par course. Normally, I will be using my push cart or driving cart. I do find the legs don't kick out too easily when I put it down in soft grass, but its a minor complain for is an otherwise great bag.

In my Grom Stand bag:

Driver: Ping G20, 8.5 Tour Stiff
Wood/Hybrid: G20 3W, Raylor 19*, 22*
Irons: R9 5I - SW, TM CGB LW

Putter: Scotty Cameron Kombi-Mid

Favorites: Old Ranch (Seal Beach), Ike/Babe (Industry Hills), Skylinks (Long Beach), Desert Willow (Palm Desert)

I used to have the orange and black (non plaid) grom. I never really got used to the layout of the top and switched to a 14 Way stand and Cart bag. When I would put the bag in my car all the clubs in the big pockets would get all mixed up. love the idea of the zipperless ball pocket though, also the towel loop.

I have one, and really like it, clubs arranged basically like described above, like the extra pockets and features. Ogio is thinking in my opinion, and makes the good stuff.

I bought mine for the functionality, but mainly for the looks. I got the 'juice' version.

No, I have the 2010 model.

I did not say it had issues, I just said that it does not open as easily as the hoofers I have owned in the past.

I have an 09 Grom and walked while carrying it all season with no problems. Only issue is with the legs sometimes and totally blew out one of the zippers on the side pocket. Wrote to Ogio just for the heck of it and they offered me 50% off a new bag so I may upgrade to the 2010 Grom.

Some of the Ogio Nexos were released with shorter legs than intended. The legs were thus not long enough to support the bag, and would not catch and support the bag when you set it down. It was resolved with few of them making it to market, but there were apparently a few that slipped through. I really like everything about my Nexos, but I also bought it NOS and could not imagine paying $250 for a non JDM bag.

I have had my Grom for 3 seasons, love the bag. Lots of pockets, great set up (woode system). Only knock on the bag is the same as glk23, blew out lower zipper. I also see some of the seams starting to fray but this is because I have a tendancy to load the crap out of it. I would certainly buy another.

perhaps i'm just spoiled by 14 way dividers, but after I switched to a 14 way bag from my 09 Grom, I will never go back.

The problem i had with my grom was the iron pockets were too close together, so I see some people staggered in the pockets, 3 left, 3 right, 3 left, which is what I did, but it was still really annoying to get clubs out.

    • I did read the fine print tonight. It said replace with “similar features & function”.  8 yeas ago my purchase had features that today are available on the lower end models and the current version of my model has more “bells & whistles” than what I got 8 years ago.  So I am thinking they honored the agreement and I can’t argue the offer. since getting a credit for the full purchase price all I am really out over the past 8 years was the cost of the extended warranty, which was less than a low end  treadmill would have cost me. now the question is which model to replace with.  I’ll stay with Nordic Track or I forfeit the $1,463 credit so I will get Nordic Track.  And they honored the warranty and were not hard to work with which is a plus.
    • Generally speaking, extended warranties are a terrible deal and should almost always be avoided. They are a huge profit center for the companies that offer them, which should tell you almost everything you need to know about how much value most consumers get when purchasing them.  This is correct, and the old adage applies - only buy insurance when you can't afford the loss. This usually doesn't apply to most consumer goods.  To your second question, no I don't believe the offer is fair. They are replacing it, but it is not being replaced at "no cost to you". Since the amount being disputed (over $500) is non-trivial, I would probably push the issue. Don't waste your time on the phone with a customer service agent or a supervisor. They have probably given you all they have the authority to do. Rather, I would look at the terms of your agreement and specifically legal disputes. The odds are you probably agreed to binding arbitration in the event of a dispute. The agreement will outline what steps need to be followed, but it will probably look something like this.  1. Mail the Nordic Track legal department outlining your dispute and indicate you are not satisfied with the resolution offered.  2. Open up a case with the AAA (American Arbitration Association), along with the required documentation. 3. Wait about 4-5 weeks for a case to be opened - at which point someone from Nordic Track's legal department will offer to give you the new model at no cost to you.  They certainly don't want to spend the time and energy to fight you over $500. 4. Enjoy your new Nordic Track at no cost to you. I recently entered binding arbitration against a fairly large and well known company that screwed me over and refused to make it right. In my demand letter, I made a pretty sizeable request that included compensation for my time and frustration. Once it hit their legal department, they cut me a check - no questions asked. It was far cheaper to settle with me than to send their legal team to defend them in the arbitration.
    • I never thought of looking at it on multiple purchases like you said.  Yes, the extended may help me on 1 or 2 items but not the other 5 or 6.
    • Day 84 - Forgot to post yesterday, but I did some more chipping/pitching.    Back/neck were feeling better today, so I did a much overdue Stack session.
