I am looking for cheap (less than $60) low profile golf shoes w/ no twist of spikes, please advise.

The current pair of Footjoys I have are too used up as I walk 90% of the time and didn't last more than a season before looking "old". Because of this, I don't think it is fair to spend $180 plus for low profile golf shoes that don't have the twist off spikes. Men's size 13, preferr black or deep brown. Any suggestions? Thanks for all of your help in advance.

I don't know what you mean by low profile, nor do I know what kind of spikes you are referring to.  For less than $60 you aren't going to find much except the athletic style shoes.  And every cleat or spike I've ever seen is twist or screw type.  The ones on my 2 pairs of Footjoys are the type I prefer.  Last time I checked, the Footjoy Contours were less than $180 (they were still around $100), but that was a few years ago.

I think by low profile he means either the Taylor Made shoes that are designed to keep you lower to the ground, or he means the spikeless shoes. He could also mean spikeless shoes when he says "shoes that don't have the twist off spikes." But no, I don't have any suggestions for cheap shoes.

Yes, I mean the shoes that keep you close to the ground (low profile) and yes I mean Spikeless (shoes that don't have removable spikes, instead they have "knobs" for traction). I tried searching for spikeless shoes and buying them online but when they arrived, they had the standard removable spikes. Sorry that I was not clear enough in my initial description.

Check out the FJ Contour spikeless.  While they aren't low profile and not under $60--they're under $100 w/shipping, at least they have the size and color you requested.

These Nikes are kinda close. They do have a few spikes, not not your typical spike pattern. And they are not super pricey. I have a pair and really enjoy them. Nike Air Rate:

Thanks Ben, but those shoes are not low enough to the ground for me. I discovered the true spikeless by accident because I was looking for a waterproof shoe and was amazed at how I started striking the ball better.

If you are really wanting low profile and spike-less you should check out Tour Linkswear.  They are not cheap ($159) but they are like minimalist shoes.

Have you tired them on yet? I feel like I'm playing in sandals in these things. They be low yo!

No I haven't tried them on yet. I suppose I should try them on before being convinced that they are not as low to the ground as I wish them to be. The second I saw those twist off spikes, I "knew" that they had to be too high off of the ground. In all fairness I will try them on to see how they are.

I have the Sketcher Bobcat shoes and love the traction.  I wear them every day and they are great for golf in dry conditions (not water proof)

Unfortunately, they are getting more and more difficult to find.

 

I am currently also looking at the Adidas Kanadia Trail running shoes--they are more widely available and look like they have good traction for golf.   The Kanadia Trail shoes have been around for a while, the older models can easily be found for less than $60.

I will take a look at those too. You are right about wet and dry play. I had forgotten that the shoes I am trying to replace are water-resistent (not waterproof but does a very good job of keeping my feet dry). I heard from someone on this site that shoes can be water-proofed after purchase.
