Get a new putter or just keep playing with old one

Well i've been playing a minimum of once a week since the week after new years, and the worst part of my game is putting. I am currently using the putter that came in my RAM box set. Would buying a new putter help my putting? Or do i just need to keep play and eventually it will come with time? Thanks

Its not going to be some magical fix to your putting game but getting a new putter that feels better isn't going to be a bad thing ;)

I agree with darkhunter139.  A new putter is not going to make you sink everything, but in my opinion it will help you if the feels better.  I just upgraded to a better putter and the way it feels in my hands is just so much better.  I am sinking more because I have confidence in the putter that I have now.  It is going to help, but you will still have to practice your putting.

A quality newer putter is probably going to help you sink more putts than the one that came with your Ram set simply because its going to be a better putter.  Id suggest trying out either a Ping Anser, Cleveland Classic or a TM Est 79.  Any of those can be had for less than $100 and are quality putters.

It won't make you worse, that's about all I can say.  Putters are putters, feel different, look different-all do about the same thing.  I just had one of my best putting rounds ever with a 50 or 60 year old blade putter with a round grip, first time I used it on the course.  If you have the funds by all means get yourself a new putter, you're probably at the point of not liking the old one even if you were putting well with it.

Ive literally gone through maybe 8 Putters in 2 years. Wound up getting talked into a new  White Ice from my old DF770 and I couldnt be happier, the weighting and balance of it are just perfect for me. That and its gorgeous to look down on.

However I started out with a really cheap 12$ Building 19 putter, my friend gave me his older Dunlop that was about 40-50$ new. This thing literally destroyed my handicap in the few rounds I used it for, it was just soo heavy and hit the ball like crackhead no feel to it at all.

More expensive and Newer < Feel

If you are going to spend some $$$ on a putter, why not through some at some lessons while you are at it.  That might be money better spent right now than a new stick.

If money is an issue...

Change the grip on your Ram first.  See what happens.  Do some searches for some quality practice putting drills.  Work on it a week or two on days you aren't playing.  If that doesn't help and the new grip doesn't freshen up the old putter so you improve, pull the trigger on something else.

It's ridiculous... I know.  You don't even want to know what they go for.
