My Swing (gwlee7)

iacas and mvmac know a lot about me as I am a student of theirs.  This DTL view is from today.  I have been working with the Golf Evolution guys for just over a year now.  This is the best my swing has ever looked.  They will tell you how much better this is than October of 2010:

Top the backswing (P4) looks great!  Looks like you're hitting it solid.  Keep it up

This works, before on the left

It's that much more of a change just from simply feeling like my left shoulder is "sliding" down my left leg.  The lifting up is much, much better and the "across the line" at the top just went away by itself.  I wasn't trying to do anything with my arms or wrists.  Just really focusing on getting that tilt down once and for all.

Greg you should be proud of the changes you've made and how hard you've worked. Always a pleasure, and I hope your wife is having a blast as well.

Now, if I could just take it to the course.  I haven't been able to play as much lately.  I hit some great shots today  but also some stinkers.  One thing about it though, I know EXACTLY what I need to be working on.   It can only get better as these newer feelings become more natural and ingrained.  And besides, just like I told Dave when I talked to him last week, I know it will take time for the compensations that are still in my swing from the faults that were there to work themselves out.  The important thing is that you guys have helped me fix this from the front and not just given me another compensation for the faults that came before it.

So as not to clog up the "5 S's" thread, here's my simple, specific, slow, short, and successful work on the rght foot banking drill that mvmac has prescribed for me.  Do not comment on the lifting up in my backswing.  I know that continues to be a chronic problem.  I was focusing soley on keeping my right instep on the ground through the swing.  Specific right?  a1_smile.gif

Here are two from today.  I had mentioned in the "Hitting into a Net" thread that I'd get some of me hittting into my net.  Some things are coming together while some things remain a work in progress:

Here are a couple more since I have returned from Erie.  I haven't worked as much as I'd like because it's so damned hot but, I believe the DTL especially shows significant progress from where I started.  I don't like how quickly my right heel is coming off the ground here but, that is NOT the piece I am working on at the moment.  I am working on maintaining pressure on my left thumb with my right heel pad to try to keep my hands ahead of the ball a bit longer on the downswing.  The nasty head movement is much, much better than ever but, it is something that I will always have to be very careful about.

I played like crap this past Sunday so I shot some video yesterday to see what had happened.  I "backslid" into the very bad habit of lifting my arms too much and then crossing the line at the top:

Compared to my "good" swing on the left, I am way out of position and was hitting some nasty pulls.  Interesting game, golf.

Continuing to work on my inclination to the ground (my # 1 priority) but also working on maintaining a bit more lag by applying pressure at PP1 (per Dave).  Here is a swing capture I posted in the S & T thread (on the left) compared to today at home (on the right).  I **think** A6 looks a little better and the ball felt like it was being struck very solidly.

Yep that is definitely better, keep it up
