Does anyone use something like this?  I want something for my computer that I can enter in all my stats from my rounds and it can then tell me GIR, misses left, right, which clubs miss where, sand saves, etc.  I'm willing to spend some money on it if it gets any good recommendations.... what do you guys think?

Thanks!

Scorecard... I've checked out the demo and I love it... I haven't actually gotten around to buying a copy myself yet but I think I will soon... I'm to lazy to write down my stats during a round sometimes.

it seems like the program scorecard does a lot, but i'd hate to spend a lot of time messing around with an actual paper scorecard to prep the stats.  how do you add all these stats to your scorecard when playing?  i've searched around but all i am told is "buy the program and you'll find out".  is this some trick to get me to buy it before you tell me the "special sauce" to make it work?

Yeah. I use only two boxes. Or sometimes I use the free iPhone software.

You only track five stats:

  1. Score - you'd track that one anyway
  2. Fairway hit - you draw an arrow left, up, or right
  3. # Putts - 0, 1, 2, 3
  4. GIR/UD/SS - green in regulation or up and down or sand save
  5. Distance of first putt - a quick estimate's good

Takes 10 seconds to write it down. And you get 35+ stats out of it all.

Golf Digest has a free online program "Make Me Better" at http://golfdigestchallenge.com You print out a paper scorecard to track your stats on during the round then enter them later. Here's a look at the scorecard http://www.golfdigestchallenge.com/files/BRC_GDChallenge_2010.pdf

I'm not sure if it's incorrect to post this but oobgolf has a very nice stat tracker with spreadsheets that you post online, private or public. I do have scorecard paid for, but I find the oobgolf stat tracker better because there are no uploads to do you just fire up your page and post your round. Yes I like my stats online so I can see how bad I am from anywhere in the world

Anyone who keeps stats on their game should also count strokes lost because of (1) bad decisions: wrong shot, right shot but wrong club, etc., things that have nothing to do with technical skills, but with THINKING, and (2) not being mentally focused while making the shot. I believe if a golfer could eliminate these mistakes, their handicap would go down by at least a third, and without making one trip to the driving range.

thanks for the useful scorecard tips!

i had a system i kept, but all it would do is count FIR/GIR and # of putts.  the other systems mentioned here allows for more info to be kept easily.  i like it!

  • 5 months later...

I want to use this for Uk courses that have no slope ratings. I know i cant be mega accurate as many factors come into play, just for the sake of estimation does anybody have a system for estimating these ratings from SSS. For instance my home course is par 72 and SSS 69. I know an average course slope is 113 so what would be a good under number to use as an estimate for this course?

Hi all,

Is there a piece of software available for keeping track of your golf scores which you can export data to another source i.e your website?

What software are you all currently using?

Lets discuss........

    • Day 76 - Pretty sore today, so I opted for putting over my Stack session. Primary focus was on starting line, as my putting has been pretty poor this year.
    • Been a bit of delay in updates but I needed to come back east as my mom's health has taken a serious turn for the worse. In a 3 day span we learned she had a tumor to she has stage 4 cancer and stopped eating and drinking for the most part. She has had a rough 3 months but certainly didn't think we'd be at the point of setting up hospice for her. My mom was never into any sports really other than following the Red Sox because my dad was a big fan. She always cared about what we were involved in including asking about how golf went.  I have kept up with my 5 minutes of daily practice and will go to the gym here in NH tomorrow morning. Despite the somber nature of this trip my family has commented more than a few times about my weight loss so it's important to me to keep it up. I know my mom always wanted us happy in whatever we did so I'll continue with my fitness journey keeping that in mind.
    • Day 109- Putting drills on a putting green for 20 minutes.
    • Day 252: did a stack session. Did some slow rehearsal swings during breaks.
    • Day 82: 3/18/24 Tried a Stack session but could not certify my warmup. Finished with indoor chips and putting.
