This weeks marks the first week that most local courses are opening. Also marks the first day or real golf weather on Thursday, sadly I'll be working, and hoping the weather holds out to some degree for a Friday or Sat round.

Anyone got golf plans for the short warm stretch coming up?

I have an all year course here too, but it'll be a pleasure to finally play in some warm weather. Hopefully things will be fairly dry.

Um... the only thing "better" than this type of free golf, is actually paying for your round and playing golf legally. I don't think tearing up a course in winter conditions, or walking on without permission/paying is "great".

OK before this thread gets hijacked into a morals battle, when is your course scheduled to open?

I'm not hi-jacking anything, I can assure you of that.

My course, unfortunately, is not set to open until mid-April or early May. They're pretty strict with the greens. Walking on the dormant grass, with or without frost, (I'm not sure what type of grass they use) causes the grass to become a bare spot.

I take that back, I just found out that our course actually opened today due to it being 65° out and staying in the mid-upper 50's all weekend. Rain tomorrow, but Sunday will probably be a good day.

I have been playing all winter, well in a indoor simulator :)

As soon as I can find a course open Im going to be on it. As soon as May hits, baseball/softball/soccer hits and Im coaching rugrats how to chase a ball. So I plan on hitting early since may/june is really hard  for me to get on a course

I'm kicking off my season tomorrow, I think I'm playing a par 60 instead of the nice links course though. My buddy has screwed me once again, he promised to go golfing this Thursday last weekend, unknowingly picking the nicest day of the year. Sure enough, he cancelled yesterday as usual. I will be going to a cheap course as a single, with no warmup instead of a really nice links with a grass range.

My goal is to shoot +12 or better; only thing is I have no clue what my distances will be like, only that they'll be longer. I'll be playing a longer set of tees, and likely still hitting less club. Haven't played, or for that matter spent more than 30 minutes with my friend, since November. I did ok at the range last time though.

I live in Ohio and it just got warm again.  Got my new wedges in the mail today.  Plan on hitting the driving range while its 70 degrees outside.  Need to kick off the rust for a few weeks at the range before I'll go on the course.  Can't wait to get back on the course!

Cheers to golf being back!

It's been surprisingly pleasant all winter, so I've been playing pretty regularly all winter long here in PA. I have a couple courses around me that are open all year long, so as long as its not pouring, snowing or below 35* on my days off, I'll be on the Links.

Have to love our crazy Ohio weather right now! Hopefully it stays at the projected forecast of 50 on Saturday and 55 on Sunday. I'd love to get out and use my new irons!

Hey I played enough times through the heart of winter, but as I walk into the office its already almost 60, which in March feels like 75, just sooooo depressing I have to sit here today. Even more depressing they are forecasting a 20 degree drop for the next two days, my days off.

Its real REAL golf weather this morning in NY.

It's beautiful, 61 with low humidity and a nice breeze. Perfect weather.

Too bad I went to 3 different courses today and they were all so full I needed to wait 2 hours at one, and I couldn't even park at the others. Couldn't even get on the range! I can't begin to express how pissed I am at the world right now. A weekday late morning round should not be this hard to get, especially at the courses I play. And to top it off, I can't even get a round later because I have a commitment at 4:30. I guess I'll have an aneurism and die now.
