If you want green side spin on finesse shots and less spin off driver - then expensive ones.

Try Callaway HEX Black

Bridgestone B330S

Titleist ProV1

Taylormade Penta

Srixon ...

etc.

Ping G400 Max 9/TPT Shaft, TEE EX10 Beta 4, 5 wd, PXG 22 HY, Mizuno JPX919F 5-GW, TItleist SM7 Raw 55-09, 59-11, Bettinardi BB39

I've been doing a lot of testing the past couple weeks between the Callaway Chrome v.s. Black. My swing speed is 109-110 mph and I played the iz last year. I think Callaway has a winner with either of these balls, and as they advertize, the Chrome is a very good ball that's a little softer than the Black and spins a little less. Overall I like the Black better and I got a little more distance out of the Black and just about the right amount of spin around the greens. The Callaway Black really is a great premium ball. I'll hold on to the Chrome balls to use on those colder days when you want a little softer ball.

They did a nice job on the trajectory of the new Callaway balls as well. With last years iz I loved the trajectory I was getting with my driver but my irons would balloon slightly so I would have to work at keeping it down. The Hex Black and Chrome both have a more penetrating flight and it kind of balanced out my trajectories with both Driver an Irons. I don't think you can go wrong with either the Hex Chrome or Black.

Ive been hitting the B330 for a while now and love it. However after putting one out of bounds recently a mate threw me a 20xi-X on the tee block and i was instantly converted, the extra distance off the tee was unbelievable i also felt a lot more comfortable approaching greens after learning how the ball stops. I will be keeping some spares of these in my bag

ive been playing nike 20xi-x the last 10 rounds and preformance very much like the pro v1x. one big difference is that the nike is a bit firmer off the putter.

but the best part is that the cover is very durable. I can easily play 1 round (3-4 full wedge shots) with one ball whereas with the titleist it can be ruined in 1 shot. in my experince it even skuffs up on halfshots sometimes!

A tour ball isnt a good idea for someone with a 19 handicap.  Backspin is going to turn into sidespin and you will spend most of the day looking for your ball in the woods.  Id suggest more of a mid level ball: Bridgestone E (5, 6 or 7 depending upon your ballflight), Srixon Q-Star, etc...

Gotta agree with you on this one. It has a pretty good feel and plays long. The club pro tossed me a sleeve one day to try out. Shot 78.

Though it doesn't have the prestige of a pro v1, you will benefit from not picking up the extra side spin that often takes a not-so-good shot and makes it a terrible miss.

19 handicapper with 108 mph clubhead speed.  I'd go with something low spinning.  Definitely not a tour ball.  That is unless you never practice your short game and lose all your shots around the green, thus explaining the 19 handicap.

That's not likely. Better long game will leaf to better misses...

    • I get kidney stones. So 100 oz of water every day. Some nights I drink 32oz between midnight and 6 Am. Which means I dont sleep much.
    • 46 (9 over) Short game and putts were awful!
    • 46+40 for an 86. I just need to play 9 holes on the range before each round. 🤣🤣🤣
    • I don’t measure my intake either. I generally have a black coffee, a bottle of soda, some sweet tea at home, and anything in between is water. An ice cold bottle of water is one of my favorite things. It feels like an immediate refresher for my body. I’ll admit that I need to drink a little more though.
    • For such a nice membership, there have been some bad incidents in the past few years.  We had someone voted out a couple of years ago over something he did and he harassed the board members for three months until he moved out of the area.   Generally they’ve tried to do things like tournament handicaps and identify certain people who they know should be lower and adjust it somehow.  I can understand not wanting to go thru something like the guy who was voted out again i emailed the pro who forwarded it to the handicap committee.  They are going to see what can be done.  I walked someone thru what happened and they are going to nudge him to post the score from the match and see what he does.  Since he didn’t put anything in the electronic scoring past 13, based on how he played 14 and 15 plus having to take bogey on 16-18 for after he left, he should post 83.  We’ll see if it’s even higher,   Since he was really even thru 13, then doubled 14 and parred 15 my guess is he really shot 75 being generous and giving him 2 pars and a bogey on the three holes he didn’t play.    i shot 88, getting 16 shots for my course handicap which is net even and I lost on 13.  We do brackets where handicaps should be within 4-5 of each other.  Most matches only have 1-2 shots as a difference between players  neither of us posted the score yet.  There was something in the match play rules about whether or not to post your score.  I couldn’t remember if we were supposed to or not.  I don’t think he was going to post that, because even with his inflated score it would be the lowest score in his recent 20. Lucky I didn’t because they want to see what he does post and they don’t want me posting so he can try to calibrate his score.
