I've got a set of Callaway x-24 4-PW and a RAZR 3H but want a 2 iron similar to my irons, does anyone know if they make a 2i x-24? And if not, what 2 irons would you suggest?

Maybe I don't understand the OP, but you have a 3h, As in a 3 hybrid?  If that is the case why do you want a 2 iron which will be harder to hit then a 3 iron that you do not carry?

You can check at http://golfsmith.com ,they have a great selection of clubs and you can purchase individual irons from them.

Yeah my iron set didn't come with a 3 iron, and when I got them I wasn't too good with long irons, but I've got a lot better and would like more distance off the tee (driver is a work in progress). But thanks for the link.

I don't think they made a 2i for the X-24's but they did for the X-20's and X-18's and you can purchase a 2i for the Razr X Forged's.

I would look into getting the 3 iron first and see how you hit it, you can add a 2 iron down the road if you feel it is beneficial to you.  Keep in mind very few professional tour players play with 2 irons because of how hard they are to hit.  Many players struggle with long irons and that is why manufatures created the hybrid clubs.

I have a 2 iron. I put it in my bag when im playing certain courses with tight fairways and shorter holes. I only ever use it on the tee though. I prefer a hybrid to a long iron on turf, but on the tee, give me the iron any day.

In the Ogio Kingpin bag:

Titleist 913 D2 9.5* w/ UST Mamiya ATTAS 3 80 w/ Harrison Shotmaker & Billy Bobs afternarket Hosel Adaptor (get this if you don't have it for your 913)
Wilson Staff Ci-11 4-GW (4I is out of the bag for a hybrid, PW and up were replaced by Edel Wedges)
TaylorMade RBZ 5 & 3 Fairway Woods

Cobra Baffler T-Rail 3 & 4 Hybrids

Edel Forged 48, 52, 56, 60, and 64* wedges (different wedges for different courses)

123Putt ,

The X24 Hot irons came and went fairly quickly. The "hot" designation likely came because the model had the strongest lofts of any X-model irons to date.

X20 4i = 24*

X22, X22 Tour, FT 4i = 24*

X24 Hot 4i = 22*

The 4i is the longest club on the X24Hot spec sheet. Your Hot 4i is the strongest one in the X family, so if you can hit it you'll get good distance. If you really want a 2i, try to find one for the X18 or X20. Stay away from XForged 2i (all versions), as you need really high clubhead speed to get the ball up with it (due to head design).

Your 3H should give you distance equal to or better than a 2i, and be more reliable for the average golfer. (Unless you're like my brother, who is a wizard with the 2i. He shoots in the high 90s, but has drilled a marvelous 2i ever since he was 14 years old.)

Note: My old MacGregor 2i from my younger days was 21* in loft. In a manner of speaking, you have a 2i disguised under #4...

I've got a Hogan Apex Plus 2 iron and let me tell you its a pain to hit. I don't think I've gotten it more than 10 ft off the ground. My 2 hybrid however is one of my favorite clubs. I'd recommend looking into getting one as opposed to an iron.

Thanks for the responses guys.

Motown - there's an old set of Lynx clubs in my garage that has a 3i in it that I've been using at the range which I can hit pretty well, there's also a 2 iron in that and I can get good connection, it's just that those clubs are a lot heavier than mine and I don't want to have to get used to 2 different weighted clubs, so looking for something lighter.

Apoc - I get what you're saying, I'd only ever use it off the tee. There is such a better contact and feel off the ground with a hybrid.

WUTiger - that's interesting, I didn't know that! It explains why I've been hitting my 4 off the tee pretty far then. As for my 3H distance, I can average around 220. In fact I played an entire round yesterday teeing off with that and shot +10, it really helped being on the fairway ;)

Thanks for all the tips gents, I'll get looking into x-18/20s.

    • On my car I got the extended power train warranty. I do read the fine print most of the time. Though at now 37, my eyes aren’t what they were 10 years ago.    The problem with most of these extended warranties on electronics and appliances is you don’t register the warranty with the place you buy the warranty from, which I’ve always found strange. Unless it’s GameStop then you know Alina drops her Switch in the next two years and the screen cracks they’ll replace it. No questions asked.    You buy a slow cooker at Walmart for $50 and the extended warranty is say $6, you have to go through a third party to register your product for the warranty, and it’s pretty damn annoying. Target is the same way. Anything you buy the extended protection on you have to go through a third party.    Why do retailers go through a “broker” for warranties? Because they don’t wanna deal with it? They make me talk to someone from another country, that I can barely understand, when I need my warranty fulfilled.   Sorry for the rant.
    • You may be able to find a regular flex Blueboard on the second hand market. I’m little more than half your age so I swing a shaft that launches pretty low so I don’t have a lot of experience with Regular flex (other than when I try to hit it I miss way to the left).    There are other shafts, such as the newer Ping Alta that I’ve heard good things about. And one that no one talks about. The Jupiter shaft. You can get this shaft for a $100 with a grip and your Ping adapter installed. I was talking to the golf manager at Dick’s Sporting Goods here and he has one in his driver and has nothing but good things to say about it. I thought about getting one for my Paradym Triple Diamond to play it a little shorter, but haven’t pulled the trigger yet.

    • Meanwhile, another old Tour Edge guy switches to Callaway for this season. I have a different problem, course dependent set-ups. What I’m wondering is if @dragonsmhas the 8 iron set 5-PW, AW, GW or just 5-PW, GW. Because the PW is 42°, AW 47°, and GW 52°. Because that could potentially be a gap there. The 5-iron to 6-iron length jump is 5/8” instead of 1/2” so you should be careful of that.    @WUTiger the problem most people have with 3-woods is they don’t play them far enough back into their stance. And they usually don’t have enough loft and the shaft is too long. So 3HL, 4 or 5-wood is probably better for most golfers. I do the “Frankenwood” approach. I have both the 3+ and 5 woods. I typically will either add two degrees to the 3+ on 6600 yards or longer courses, or take a degree off the 5-wood on shorter courses than 6300 or so, and use the 5-wood shaft for both. I don’t usually find a situation where I need both the 3 and 5 wood on a course. I don’t play from 7000 yards it’s no fun. Edit: I mostly agree with @WUTiger on the gapping, although a lot of the newer even fixed hosel fairway woods are made better than what we had when we were playing the old Exotics XRails.
