So, what do you think about him wanting to be traded?
Do you think it is likely to happen?

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

He's a crying shame. The guy could be one of the greatest ever, but I gotta lump him rigt in there with T.O.: a guy whose talent is a waste because it was given to him. I couldn't guess if LA will dump him or not. They are kinda "damned if you do, damned if you don't".

He is a bad guy. He ran off Shaq and Phil so he could be the guy and has done nothing. It kills me when people try to compare him to Jordan. Jordan was all about winning. If he was Shaq's teamate and hated him he would still figure out a way to make it work for the sake of winning. Kobe is a selfish ass that only cares about himself.

The Lakers are screwing him by paying him so much money that they can't afford to get him decent teamates. Maybe if he would defer some of that money they could sign or trade for somebody.

I hear that the most likely place he could end up is Chicago. That would kill me. I am an avid Bulls fan. My oldest son is Jordan Michael. I have a Bulls logo tattood on my right arm. If he ends up there I will have to take a hard look at his attitude and how he acts in the room before I could ever cheer for him.

I am not a fan of Kobe Bryant the person because of the obvious rape accusations and the fact that he is clearly not a great guy, but that being said....At worst he is one of the top 5 players all time, this guy is sick, the way he creates space for himself and makes shots from everywhere is unreal. For chrissake the guy scored 81 in one game. The Lakers are not looking to "dump" him as someone wrote earlier. Kobe is the Lakers biggest asset by far and if they do trade him they will get a ridiculous package including star players and very high draft picks. He was thinking of going to the Clips earlier because he could stay in LA...I wonder if that is where he will land?

If I were the Lakers I would trade him for sure, I would try to make a deal with Minnesota for Garnett... Kobe is selfish and he can not win without Shaq...

I agree that he ran off everybody in his team that is good, all he thinks about is himself, does not think about TEAM at all. I think he is a spoiled brat with a huge talent and an even bigger ego. I think that any team he ends up with will have some kind of turmoil because of him wanting everything his way.

Kobe is a fantastic basketball player and he wants to win he just does it the wrong way, the way he wins is putting the rock in his hands and taking the shot. He's slowly learning he can't do this anymore because there is no inside presence to give him the room he needs, but then again sometimes he seems to do fine without it. This whole saga reminds me of the vince carter situation in toronto except kobe doesn't throw games and still gives it 100%.

and the kg/kobe trade will never happen, kg is going downhill and kobe is still in his prime, minnesota relied too muchon kg for too many years and his body isnt as healthy as it should be for his age.

to be honest i could see kobe end up as a knick.

I could see Kobe ending up in prison...

But seriously, the Lakers won't trade unless it's a top-notch player. Kobe will clash with any team he goes to.

I have a gut feeling that he isn't going anywhere in terms of next year. I just think there isn't a fair trade for Kobe and the teams who could come close (like Chicago) would have to give up entire young cores of players along with top picks and I don't know if they are willing to make that sacrifice for an older player like Kobe.

I agree. I don't think there is anyway that the Bulls are going to give up a roster full of young talent that made some noise in the playoffs for one player. They can accomplish the same feat with their current players. So, giving them up for Kobe wouldn't make sense.

I too could see Kobe staying with the Lakers for this season and then testing out the free agent market. Either way, the Lakers should get screwed. If he really wants out, the Lakers have to make a move or they'll end up getting nothing for him at all. This puts the bargaining power in other teams' hands.

I agree with the statement that Kobe is a great player who can't seem to do anything right when it comes to the team aspect of the game. He might not have made the decision to get rid of Shaq, but he sure didn't help keep him in town. From a athlete's standpoint, I don't know any team that wouldn't want a top caliber player like Kobe. From a personal and financial standpoint, he carries too much baggage. But I totally disagree with you about the KG statement you made. How is KG not healthy as he should be for his age? He's the same age as Tim Duncan and hasn't missed as many games as TD. Didn't Timmy just win his 4th title? Garnett's arguably the best PF in the business...only behind Duncan and Dirk. What you fail to realize is the difference in the quality of players surrounding them. Other than the year he had Spree and Cassell and those with Marbury, he's never had a support group to assist him, yet was still able to take them to the playoffs. C'mon, you can't tell me Wally or even R. Davis was the answers to his prayers? Give him Parker and Ginobli and I would guarantee him a championship! Give him J.Howard and Terry and I would guarantee him a championship! There was never a team in NBA history that's won the championship with only ONE all-star on their roster, which is the problem with KG's team.

He's a great player, and I can see why he's wanting a trade, he's not going to win anything at Lakers, so he wants a championship somewhere else, he's just going about it the wrong way.

    • I've played Bali Hai, Bear's Best and Painted Desert. I enjoyed Bali Hai the most--course was in great shape, friendly staff and got paired in a great group. Bear's Best greens were very fast, didn't hold the ball well (I normally have enough spin to stop the ball after 1-2 hops).  The sand was different on many holes. Some were even dark sand (recreation of holes from Hawaii). Unfortunately I was single and paired with a local "member" who only played the front 9.  We were stuck behind a slow 4-some who wouldn't let me through even when the local left. Painted Desert was decent, just a bit far from the Strip where we were staying.

    • Honestly, unless there's something about that rough there that makes it abnormally penal or a lost ball likely, this might be the play. I don't know how the mystrategy cone works, but per LSW, you don't use every shot for your shot zones. In that scatter plot, you have no balls in the bunker, and 1 in the penalty area. The median outcome seems to be a 50 yard pitch. Even if you aren't great from 50 yards, you're better off there than in a fairway bunker or the penalty area on the right of the fairway. It could also be a strategy you keep in your back pocket if you need to make up ground. Maybe this is a higher average score with driver, but better chance at a birdie. Maybe you are hitting your driver well and feel comfortable with letting one rip.  I get not wanting to wait and not wanting to endanger people on the tee, but in a tournament, I think I value playing for score more than waiting. I don't value that over hurting people, but you can always yell fore 😆 Only thing I would say is I'm not sure whether that cone is the best representation of the strategy (see my comment above about LSW's shot zones). To me, it looks like a 4 iron where you're aiming closer to the bunker might be the play. You have a lot of shots out to the right and only a few to the left. Obviously, I don't know where you are aiming (and this is a limitation of MyStrategy), but it seems like most of your 4 iron shots are right. You have 2 in the bunker but aiming a bit closer to the bunker won't bring more of your shots into the bunker. It does bring a few away from the penalty area on the right.  This could also depend on how severe the penalties are for missing the green. Do you need to be closer to avoid issues around the green?  It's not a bad strategy to hit 6 iron off the tee, be in the fairway, and have 150ish in. I'm probably overthinking this.
