Im looking for one that gives me not only yardage in, but how far i hit the ball. Are there ones like this out there. or do you just point the rangefinder at the ball to find out how far you hit a drive, for example? Can it pick up a golf ball?

I played around with a top of the line leupold, and it was lightning quick.

Your thoughts?

I have a Golf Buddy Platuim, It has a option to Mark you're location at the tee box then the distance to the ball when you get there. I like it work well for me. I picked it up on craigslist for 150.00

No range finder can shoot a ball in the fairway from the tee box.........

The only way to get a distance is if there is a target near the tee you can shoot from the ball.  IE....a ball washer or tree trunk near where you teed from.  If you know that object is +-5yds or whatever from the tee markers, then you can get a good idea of how far you hit the tee shot.

This.  Use your laser to shoot back to the tee when you get to your tee shot.  You can usually shoot the hole sign, or someone standing on the tee behind you.  When you're hitting an approach, you can always shoot the flag (or whatever you're aiming at).  You'll know whether you were long or short pretty easily.
